AAaaaarghhhhh!! Damn DX9-DX11 GFX issues. I didn't realise this was one of those tracks with overly bright saturation. Sorry for that error on my part guys. To mitigate the extreme brightness in the race, I've set the race start time in-game to 18:30.
what a blast when got hang of it. had raced track at r2p in enduracers maybe and it came to me fast and had good setup from Rouen that needed only tuning some gears. 5th got click too short but np. Caught @Ken Jagger eventually and then he made a little offroad-show. saw a cap on right side but we hit a little ( did slow down aswell ). Skipped repairs but took tyres because my rears were under 40 and thought its halfway. Apparently Ken didnt, so lost position back then. When looked at clock little later it was 16-17 minutes to go so knew i made mistake. Our little happenings just before pit had nothing to do with outcome of race. Winner had tyres that lasted and I calculated ( or actually didnt ) it wrong. I did enjoy driving so much today. Car + track was just pure awesome with all those turns and bouncing around. Great stuff, thanks to everyone!
I probably went a bit too late on the clock John, as it turned out to be very much like one of your races. We started in late daylight and ended in darkness, but at least the track lighting and car headlights were pretty good.
The replay of the race is available in SRO Downloads and from the link on the race page https://simracingonline.co.uk/racing/eventinfo/1757
Great race. To say the truth, when i just saw 7 guys on track, i thout this was going to be a wlak in the desert, but it was always in good company. Love this car and it is really shame to be so few racing. Grats Ken for victory. You and Talvitie were two steps away. I tried to follow but only mange to do it for one or two laps. Thanks everyone.
Another clever idea is to drive with sunglasses (sun blocker does no harm either Scott ), as I said no joke, worked really well I removed it at the pit stop, darkness really helped. Although it is crazy that the track is so bright, that you are not able to distinguish the curbs from the gravel trap. My race was ok, I think this track has something, although I underestimated how much time you can gain by running a longer gear ration (not sure what you saw @Toni Talvitie, but ride height was default). But that was not hurting that much, also to do the full service at the pit stop (I saw that Scott had a very short stop, so I went for the alternative strategy). I was dead last but had fresh tires, so I pushed and passed @Edward Jones (good pace though) and the struggling @Scott Ring . Maybe one lap more, and I could have challenged Nuno too. I can only agree, good company, nice track, car and racing. Congrats Toni and Ken, that was another league. However, I saw a little cut at Tonis 4:09 where he drove the last of the S bends in fifth gear
I just join in the middle of qualy and not even attempt to do a lap, but I totally forgot that for some reason my wheel always gets miss configured when I join online, I have to quit go to settings and enter again. So I just remember that when I jump from the grid and try to move away from the car in front and turn the wheel and the car just barely turn, and I hit him from behind, sorry for that. I try to continue but its too awkward to drive and I just retire
