Bitter sweet but i won't making it on saturday night. Shame i'me missing a race, but happy i'm missing suzuka!
Gutted I’m not going to make it back from marshalling at Donington Park today. Hope you all have a good race

Absolutly two different pace in 1 and 2 stints. I lost my pace over 1 second after pit. I have no idea. I did not change anything at all. It happened once more before. Hopefully they sucked with the update. Plus, I did not understand how to be beaten in the pit over 10 seconds. No idea what done wrong : / Congs to the podium in advance.
Hmmm, suzuka again, definetly not my favourite track. I spun 1st lap - bad luck, I thought my pace was not too far off today, maybe just 1sec per lap slower than the podium drivers. Anyway, nice race and battles on track - finished 5th in a 11 starter grid - seems I am getting a mid pack racer thanks for your comments rob - I would be happy to have some chat as pre or post race interview in discord - anyway meeting some other racers in discord would be also nice! cya next season - Ill be definitely in (altough until July I will have a tough time @work, I will join as often as I can) cheers Christian
Sorry guys the after effects of covid are still lingering. I tried to get some practise in but my head just wouldn't clear. Looking forward to the next season .
Nice Job Max ! & grats to all the finishers! I had an issue with my PC and the broadcast so I was thrown off a bit. As you might have noticed there was a screen glitch, about 1 every minute for the entire race.. I was going crazy trying to figure it out & spent the last 4 hours reinstalling GPU drivers ,deleting programs I thought were sending info every min etc lol & basically losing my mind, it was now happening in all my games.. Turns out it was my screen saver set to 'slide show' normally when you are using the screen, background services are stopped but I have this new 55' 4K 144Hz gaming monitor that has a feature called PBP or picture by picture where you can have up to 4 sources running at the same time splitting the screen into 2, 3, or 4 separate screens, like 2 PC's and your Xbox & web cam all running at the same time! crazy. Anyway, this made it so it still had the slideshow mechanics working behind the seen & causing a glitch every 60 seconds!! So I'm verry sorry about that & it's all fixed for next time!
That was a great race for me, starting 6th, jumping 2 people with a good pit stop and also passing 2 more on track, with a brave overtake around the outside of Roberto near the end of the race to take 2nd to top off another good season for me. 6 races, 6 podiums, no wins. I think if others had been at every round the result would have been different, but hey ho. Like the race commentaries, but miss you in the races Rob! The temperature dropped in stint 2 so you needed higher pressures for 2nd stint. As for the gaining time in the pit stop, I can't give away all my secrets, but my pit crew were certainly on the money!
Congrats to Max for the win, Simon and Roberto for podium and of course to all guys who raced I can say i am quite happy for my result and at least for finished the race, i think the last 3 or 4 races i didn't finished. This was my second race at Suzuka overall, i never tried it at practice before i couldnt even remember where to brake properly how to setup my car etc.. I believe that if i had practiced more, i could be a second or more faster but this is another story (unfortunately my real life keeps me busy and my practice time is quite limited) Actually my race was about to keep my car on track, avoiding slides and mistakes and this is something that i actually done it quite well and it seems McLaren helped me a lot to do this. Anyways, i will speak a bit about the race, overall it was a lonely one, my strategy was to start with full fuel load and to do a mega stint - as i did - and to pit just 15 minutes before the end to change my tires, i wanted to do as much quick stop as i could.. But it didnt worked as i wanted, Christian managed to pass me and gained a position.. Actually Christian's pace was a bit faster than mine, specially after my pit i was lacking visibility (sunset were destroying my eyes, i am playing on a 23' old LG TV monitor with low resolution because my RX570 gpu just died) and finished the race almost blind lol. Unfortunately i will miss the very next event on season 2 (i will be away because easter). Special thanks to Rob for broadcasting and as Simon said, Rob i really miss you on races.. Until the next one, take care all guys
You kind of penalised yourself there.... Running a full tank around suzuka will always be slower than running a half tank and will wear the tyres more. While others had chance to use there new tyres after their stops Changing the tyres takes far longer than any fuel fill you do. Sadly this reduces any pit strategy to just splitting it in approx half, starting with fuel for the stint
This is one of the things that frustrates me with ACC as well. I guess the real cars are like this as well due to being able to fuel & change tires at the same time. not allot of options, we have the "pit window" that we're not using atm and then "no fuel during pit stop" can be tic'd as well. They also have "timed refuel" where no matter how much you add it's the same amount of time for all drivers ...
I have seen other series do it so you must make a pitstop, but leave the rest of it up to you, so some will splash and dash at the last minute for the quickest stop, while others might try the split it 50/50 and take tyres too. The only control is you must pit and usually quite a big window to do it in. Maybe something to think about for the future, though again I am sure in shorter races that also becomes a no brainer where splash and dash is the optimum by some way. Not sure where the break comes but most cars can not do really long stints on the newer tyres without some serious wear now (I think)
