Yeah, I saw ... you're with the wrong team.
Although, you know what team FKR stands for, right? ... Freddy Krueger Romance ... I'll stay where I am, thank you.

Sorry, i hadn't seen the comments on the track until just now, so i know my opinion is offered far too late, but I really think this version of the track should be retired from SRO.

Aside from suffering unusually low frame rates in some places, the major concern is that the modder has implemented cut deterrence by building up some areas at the inside of the corners (see T7-T10) into very dangerous "sausage curb" like mounds, and even a 2-3ft ski jump (T11), that are not visually distinguishable from what one would assume to be flat terrain as you approach them. No other version of this track i've been on has these, and they most certainly would not be allowed in real life as they tend to launch any car running slightly wide at the exit of the previous corner uncontrollably into others. It would be one thing if they were all painted orange and properly shaded, like the actual sausage curbs, but these just look like flat grass or pavement until you're about to hit them.

I agree with Barrett. I believe a few will be caught off guard/taken out of the race with the ski jump. I think patience is key around there. But then again, I sometimes don't follow my own rules. I'm not too fond of this track either way.

I also agree they are invisible and maybe a note will make every one aware of them if they haven't hit them yet while practicing. wtf ??

    You mean this "sausage curb"?
It could have been done better, I agree. At least give them a contrasting colour so you would see it better.
I view them as a wall defining the track limits. And it should be treated as such. If you hit them, then you were cutting the track.

that's one. here's what the green ones look like to me:

here's the one i called the "ski-jump" at T11 (didn't even know it was the same shape as the others until just now when i stopped to grab the screen - notice it is right at the curb!):

Maybe because I'm used to this track on the original Grand Prix 1 (and when I watched F1 for real in the 90's) but Tilke ruined this track didn't he? lol.

The flow has gone compared to the original and I do really miss the final corner, that was bonkers. Ho hum....:(

Anyway, mod version comments. No issues for me, track looks ok and no glare. I have most settings on full or high. Yes there are some bumps that are quite nasty but they don't upset the car too much. The 30mph pit lane limit is crazy, gives me time to admire the pit lane girls though....

Yes for people who are unaware and haven't driven this track yet....on the inside of almost every corner are very high sausage kerbs that will damage the car very easily.

The really unusual one is on the inside of most high speed corners are huge ramps or bumps that will launch you in the air (like a giant ripple in the tarmac). However the problem is they are the same colour as the surrounding scenery and they have no shadow so you can't see them (until you are six feet in the air!)

Got my fingers crossed for no laggy lag lag :)

    Drivers briefing

    1. This event will be broadcasted
    Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam
    Broadcasters: Nassim, Lorenzo & Sameer
Twitch broadcast link: www .twitch .tv/eitharacingteam (delete the spaces)

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in the pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. Race Conditions
    1) The race will start at 14:00 PM (in-game time of course).
    2) Time acceleration is normal
    3) The race will be dry from start to finish.
    4) The duration of this race will be 1 hour and 32 minutes (including formation lap).

    4. The race starts with a formation lap. Right after leaving the last corner, we double file in qual order.
    a. When the DPI pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for DPI;
    b. When the GT3 pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for GT3.

    5. The GT3 class will hold a 5-second gap to the DPI class on the formation lap. If there is trouble ahead on lap one, you have time to react to it.

    6. Each class pole-sitter will do the formation lap approx. 120 km per hour.

    7. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the Mexico event page.

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. You can find the server by first typing sro.

    10. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    11. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

Just found out something last night that needs to be mentioned.

Quick stint behind the wheel, got sideways on the fast left leading into braking for the stadium section. Whatever you do don't hit or catch the corner marker boards on the right.....errrm they are solid walls. Haha. I was out on the spot.

I think these are the only ones like this. That's some mighty tough polystyrene they make in Mexico... lol :)

Also a heads up for cutting turn 2
If you cut turn 2 and don't slow down, you will hit a strip of alleviated grass that will send you flying.
It's obviously designed to stop you from cutting, but it's a bit clumsy. Just drive over it very slowly, or better yet, don't cut that corner :)

Maybe I should drink a Red Bull before the race. They say it gives you something.

But not too slow, because unless you're racing a jeep, you'll be beached on these.

I am so frustrated after that :(
Based on Quali performance (P9 out of 12 in Class) I was expecting a quiet afternoon. But oh my god, the car was so good on race fuel.
Beat Didier Coleo off the line and tucked in under Rob Miliken's rear wing. Steady few laps getting settled in after the start and then with the car feeling great, it was time to pressure @Rob Milliken

The next 20-30 minutes were fantastic, for me anyway, Rob was probably sick of me being in his mirrors. Literally nose to tail lap after lap. Almost got through into the stadium section but Rob kept the inside line so kept the place. But in my head I was thinking, apply the pressure and the mistake will come - Which unfortunately for Rob, it did, losing the rear end at the start of the 3rd Sector in the S bends.

Right, Rob clear, @Barrett Erickson next. Car felt good, I actually had pace to race with the quicker drivers in the league so I was feeling super fired up. Seemed like I was closing in on Barrett, not sure if I would have caught him or not, I never got the chance to find out. Game froze solid - Same issue I had at Istanbul in the previous lseason and that was race over.

Hoping I have good pace for the remainder of the season because that was fun!

After R1 and few laps in lag gave something to think about before start. How tyres last? Which to take? How much fuel and will it fuel up as it changes tyres.
Hadnt done a stint more than 5 laps with this car.
Few little practices usually go to just learning the car.
And because of this, left tyre option open until pitstop. Wasnt even sure do people pit these.
    Well, forgot to change tyres.
Happy to find out that after slowish start, pace was getting in there.
Good race and gratulations to the winners.
