Great race & allot of fun!
Nice broadcast by the EITHA broadcast team!!! ;)
@Tom Parton Yes was another good battle & sorry to see you had issues again:(.. Big thanks to teammate Johhny G. for the set up! it took 2.5 sec's off the clumsy set I had patched together lol.. It did however have the wing at 1 so it was a-bit slippery in a few spots but real fast on the straits. In practice I mentioned that the only spot it was dicey was in those sector 2 long, hi speed left right lefts & that's right where I lost it :D.
Soon after my off I pitted & loaded up what I hoped was enough fuel to get to the end & kept the same tires (med's) this proved to work as with about 25 min left I gained a spot while the car in front by some 30+seconds pitted. I got through with about a 14 sec gap that I saw was coming down every lap and hoped, with less than 15 min left, I could hold out but then again in the sector 2 long turns I lost it giving way to one of the DPI's & all my gap had vanished  & I lost that spot as well ..lol by now I was noticing ,with 10 min left, that I was consuming to much fuel per lap so I trimmed the mixture down to the lowest "safety car" & held on to the end with 0.26 L left across the line .
Really fun race regardless! Grats to the podiums & IDK what planet those alien Pastore brothers are from but they are not of this earth!!:p:D
    CU all in Spain!~!~!

    Arrrrghhh! Lol

    Quick race write up then….

Did some practice earlier in the week, did my usual setup changes to start with and then it became very clear that I was onto a good thing. Haha.

Car felt really good, turned in beautifully, lots of grip, slight understeer that I could balance on throttle, almost perfect. Very different to Sepang where the car was like a bucking bronco. Did some more laps. Got within a tenth of the fastest time on old tyres so I was very optimistic for sure. I did one qualifying run and was over a second and a half faster but pitted to stop the time being recorded on the server. Haha.

Qualifying went almost perfectly, my first run I caught traffic into turns one and two. Second run was clear and got the lap in, my first pole on SRO :)

Start of the race went well, I saw that John got passed into turn one and I knew that was my chance. So I just pushed as hard as I could, car felt great. Pulled out a 10 second lead over a few laps. So far so good…

….and then it all went a bit wrong. Haha. As seen in the video, coming out of the stadium a couple of BMW’s were fighting and got together and blocked the track in front of me. I had nowhere to go expect to brake. I could see my lead rapidly disappearing and then John got a run on me into turn one and was through.

I knew I was quicker than John but from there I couldn’t get the breaks with traffic, kept catching people in the fast corners or the stadium. So I’d gain three or four seconds then lose five. Lol.

I took a few risks in traffic so apologies to those drivers, I was just trying very hard at the end to not lose time anymore.

Anyway, well done to John and all the finishers. Great job and nice to get a podium but a win would’ve been great too. ;)

I’m away for the next round but I’ll still jump on the server to see how the Mazda copes with Barcelona. The RT-24P is very slippery in a straight line so hoping that I can get my revenge at Austria and Sebring :)

Little side note….I may try renaming my MAS file, I see the stream wasn’t showing my livery and one of the Acura’s had my livery wrapped around it like a weird jigsaw. Haha. I’m wondering that if others use the same naming it causes the server to mix people up. I need to check though.

    re: Skins
Andrew, it looks like you created a "team car"?
There are probably more experienced skinners here than i, but what we've discovered is that rF2 still hasn't resolved the "team car" bug that the new UI introduced. Even though it looks like it's working from the driver's end, it's not transferring properly to the others and they may even see a completely different car. For instance, i did some practice sessions in a "team car" R8 and it was identified by "live timing" as a Ferrari 488. So it's probably not something you're doing wrong.
Seems the only way to be sure your skin transfers properly is to just add it as an "alt_skinname.dds" to one of the cars in the mod's selection, assign the proper material types in the materials editor and just load the skin from there when you go to track.
Maybe the May update will finally resolve it.

Interesting, in the Broadcast Stream it looked ok so maybe the other video that John posted was from somewhere else. That's fine, no problem.

On my screen all the custom liveries looked ok during the race, just that odd glitch on one of the Acura's. Which seemed to go, whether the driver left the server and then came back I'm not sure.

No in this case I didn't create a team car file my friend, just a MAS file assigned to an existing vehicle (the #55 car) and then selected the livery before joining the server. I assume that's what you mean?

The commentary team were asking if it was a custom livery? Yep it certainly is :) Being a Mazda and rotary fan I modified my previous RE-Amemiya livery to fit on this car.

Here's the original real inspiration livery (it's their time attack car "Hurricane"). Apart from the sponsor logos, I had to draw all of it myself. Took me quite a while to map out all the swirls! lol. Then played with the RF2 materials so it's more metallic/pearl looking than the original.

In reference to Skins. I updated my skin folder about an hour before the race to run the updated Hex Sim Racing Bentley Skin - For me it was working fine.
On stream however, it was showing my old Bentley skin for some reason.

Going to try using a different Bentley Next week to see if it sorts itself out as I think the Server may have an old copy of my skin and hasn't updated to the new one.

I went for a quick 'comfort break', came back and clicked on 'Drive', expecting to start qualifying, but instead found myself about to start the race from the back of the grid! Completely missed qually! Oh well! Despite that and despite my obligatory stop-and-go penalty, I loved the track, loved the car and thoroughly enjoyed racing through the pack to finish in my usual place of last in class! Great fun. Congratulations to John VD Geest and Giuseppe Pastore for their wins and well done on another excellent broadcast by Eitha Racing Team.
