Can't make this one as I'm in the UK but hopped onto the server anyway.

Yeah I was a bit surprised when I looked out the windscreen to see puddles of water, lol.

Did a few laps the other night. I think I was around a 53 in the full wet conditions (car felt good but I really have no idea how competitive that is, probably pretty slow)

I was over a second up on the some laps (as the track started to dry out) but would lose time in the last sector, because apart from the final corner it's so damn slow! That chicane is painful. lol. So the odd sideways moment and I would lose all the time I made up.

On a dry private server I managed a 36.4 (on full tanks) so a bit slower than John but again car felt good.

Anyway, hope you all have a good event and don't get too wet! I guess it will probably be a wet start then within about ten laps you may be able to go onto soft slicks (depending on how many cars you have on the track creating a dry line). Have fun :)

    Drivers briefing

    1. This event will be broadcasted
    Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam
    Broadcasters: Nassim, Lorenzo & Sameer
Twitch broadcast link: www .twitch .tv/eitharacingteam (delete the spaces)

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in the pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. Race Conditions
    1) The race will start at 14:00 PM (in-game time of course).
    2) Time acceleration is normal
    3) The race will have rain for the last 20% of the race.
    4) The duration of this race will be 1 hour and 32 minutes (including formation lap).

    4. The race starts with a formation lap. Right after leaving the last corner, we double file in qual order.
    a. When the DPI pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for DPI;
    b. When the GT3 pole-sitter crosses the start-line, the race begins for GT3.

    5. The GT3 class will hold a 5-second gap to the DPI class on the formation lap. If there is trouble ahead on lap one, you have time to react to it.

    6. Each class pole-sitter will do the formation lap approx. 120 km per hour.

    7. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the Barcelona event page.

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. You can find the server by first typing sro.

    10. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    11. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

I try to do better than yesterday where I fell asleep before the race. Haven't been feeling well so I thought a bit of shut eye would help. lol Anyway I hope to stay awake today.

Sorry Tom for giving you a scare. I missed my braking point the first time at the hairpin because of the spray of the cars in front of me. My bad.
The second time I was caught off guard by Gilles braking so early and with you having to brake as well. That became messy, but luckily we came out of it with only a bit of paint swapping.

Boy that was hard work. Haven't sweated as much as this in ages. Really need to find out how to change a set of tyres without any menu or option screen. Pitted when the rain started, but came back out on slicks. Spent the last 20 minutes ice-skating. Congrats to (I'm guessing) John and one of the Pastore brothers.

i wouldn't think it's possible to change your pit options without having the HUD screens available, Gilles. But i might be wrong. You can turn it on and off with an assigned key, if you prefer it off.

Ooohh ... you were surviving on slicks in the rain. You should have gone back in to change them.
You should map a few buttons for your HUD etc.

This one was a lot of fun! OK, they're "all above average" on the fun scale, but the strategy game gives it a bit of an edge.

Having hounded Joe for the first 45-50 minutes of the race, it looked like i might run out of fuel before the forecast rain, so i started trying to figure out where i could lift and coast without losing too much time. Not sure Joe wasn't doing the same.

The Pastore brothers, because... they're the Pastore brothers, had the luxury of being quick enough and far enough out front, to do something i considered, i.e. two stopping. But i'm just not quick enough to make that work (well done Nicola!).

The rain came a couple laps earlier than i expected and somehow i misread the weather info on the HUD and stayed out one lap too many. Thought i'd blown it, but unfortunately, Joe picked up a drive-thru on his stop the lap before and that ruined what might have been an even more intense final stint.

    Grats to John and Nicola!

[Another great stream cast Eitha. But, very humble suggestion for improved commentary: John's pre-race brief gives the weather forecast.]
