Hello guys. Looks like a nice event coming up! Would like to test those 2 cars on your server to decide with one i am going to sign up.
Found the server online, but what is the password?

    Hi Manuel,
You first have to sign up for the event to see the password on the event page.
You can always change your car class later. But then you have to un-register from the event first and then sign up again for the new car class (because of the race result processing).

Just did my first laps in the 911 RSR:) I turned off auto clutch & I'm going full 5 speed manual for this one! I have been paddle shifting for years but these cars deserve the real thing so going back to my roots & OMG its amazingly fun ;)..reminds me of my hi-school days :D. Im slow as hell but it's so cool to drive it doesn't even matter :p I crashed and blew up my engine missing 3rd & shifting to 1st by accident a few times now:rolleyes: LOL but getting the hang of it! super fun! The track is excellently done as well! The only thing is I hope it doesn't rain as the wipers in the 911 don't work! well, for me anyway ..

    Drivers briefing

    1. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in the pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    2. Race Conditions
    1) The race will start in daylight and end in the night.
    2) Time acceleration is normal
    3) The race will be dry from start to finish.
    4) The duration of this race will be 1 hour and 30 minutes.
    5) There will be a standing start on the green light, Le Mans 1967 style.

    3. You can find the password for the race server on the Le Mans page.

    4. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    5. You can find the server by first typing sro.

    6. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    7. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

    8. Pit lane line

There is no pit wall or barrier, so it's an "open" pit lane.
However, you can NOT cut into your pit box or drive over the white pit lane line somewhere in the middle to pit.

You have to enter the pit lane as designed at the pit lane entry and exit at the pit lane end, or the red square of your pit box will not show
(the next time) and you won't be able to pit.

Thanks Jens, but the turnout for the Porsche is a bit poor. I will wait for the turn out for this event to make a final decision on the series. I'm leaning more towards the F1 1975 mod now (for which these tracks could also be used).

I saw you flashing past me on the outside and we hit each other at the end of the corner.

I can't believe I was 5 seconds off the pace in my class and still won by over two minutes! That really was a case of slow and steady winning the race.

I took my eye of the road for a milisecond, distracted by the message saying John had left, next millisecond I was joining him :-(
Congrats to Caitlin and to whoever won the Porsche category (and to everyone that made it to the end).
    See you tonight in Barcelona.

Well done Caitlin, you drove the right pace. I made a silly mistake trying to go faster, then another trying to make up for the first one. Good fun anyway! Terrific track!

yeah Gilles, that was a shame. Would have liked to finish the race but it wasn't meant to be.
I was surprised to read that at least 2 other people destroyed them selfs with watching my demise.

With my 'free' time, I jumped straight into the Barcelona server. Unfortunately, rF2 must not have realised I was now in a different car, on a different track. The car was still wrecked and undrivable! (It was smoking like crazy - and not the good smoke from the 'rainbow umbrella girl'! o_O) All was good again though when I went into single player. (Looked all around the Barcelona circuit, but couldn't find a single rainbow umbrella :()

Congratulations to Caitlin Penny for winning the Lola category and to Johnny Gutierrez for winning the Porsche category.
(And apologies to Caitlin for confusing the categories in my original post - which I have since corrected, but not before my mistake had been re-quoted. Oops! Meant to say: '..and to whoever won with the Porsche', but it was really early in the morning and I couldn't remember how to spell Porsche!)
