@ Gert van Osch: Gert i saw you pitting and gaining on me. I knew you were the poleman so there was no
sense in defending. I kept staying at the race line but lifted the throttle a bit to let you pass, no good idea, you were
surprised and hit me. After that i checked my heavy damage and tried some things to find out if i could go on.
To my surprise i saw you waiting for me at the pitlane to give back the position- must have cost you lots of time.
Without that incident P1 should have been no question for you.

Second desaster was my pitting, the crew repaired my damage for a half eternity, but my stop was too early, so 2 laps
before the end my tank was empty, i had to pit again.

@ Roger Hinds: Good fight with you, , but i was one lap behind you LOL.
You made life difficult for yourself o_O.

Great Sim with some lags and freezings, esp. in Lap 1.

I don't think its necessarily skill level, someone with a old rubbish PC and a knackered out G25 is always gone a be at a disadvantage against those with direct drive wheels, load cell brakes etc.

Hi Martyn, John is right find your level and you will learn and get faster. i only started racing when i was 50, there will always be aliens , and there are 1 or 2 in this series. racing against ai is an invaluable tool also.

to be honest i couldnt tell who was where, i was just trying to hang onto this beast of a car, that wanted to kill me at every turn, plus a couple of massive freezes, lol

What a race, really enjoyed that one these cars are great fun to drive and Road America is quality. it was a bit laggy at times i and i got caught out on the warm up lap for overtaking the pole man gert but he kinda he had lagged behind me somehow which ended up giving me a bloody 10 sec penalty. at least i didnt get a drive through. once Gert pitted for his drive through. i had John right up my arse for about 12 laps and we were never more that 2 secs apart. Great racing John really enjoyed having to defend and really push to keep ahead of you. I was trying to do a once stop strategy but did'nt save enough fuel i was a lap short and although i came out leading the gap was only 5 secs to mariusz who i think did a one stop, well done for making that work.

Martyn dont give up not sure how long you have been sim racing but i have been doing it for years and have a proper sim set up for 7 years, plus you are driving really fast and can be difficult cars to learn to drive them fast, have you perhaps tried GT3 which are a bit slower. The other thing i do is use the time trial as you can set up ghost cars for your best or even the record time which helps to see where you are slow, and then you just need hours of practice.

Yeah, that was good battle!. I didn't put "repair engine / gearbox" on "no" in the strategie you make before the race, so when I pitted it started repairing the engine for an extra 25 seconds. I'm used to rFactor 2, so this is all a bit new to me.
Good win Gary. You had great pace!

It costed me a lot of time but I did punt you. I expected you to stay on the racing line and wanted to go outside to be on the inside for the next corner. I do not know what happened to the front runners on the last few laps but from one moment to another I was from 50s down only 10s down. Did they do a splash and dash. If I continued I could have been in front of them if I had not waited but nevertheless finishing on the podium was still a good result. I should not have messed up the start because then I would not have been in that position.

Sorry it was not my intention to hijack this racing post
I have always built my own pcs
    Got11700k oc to 5.2
    64g ddr4 3600mhz
    Rtx 3800ti
Run logi g29 wheel and connect through vigin broadband
I usually race using vr hp reverb g2 although had a problem last night and raced using my new 32inch 160mhz refresh monitor.
It has to be me that is just slow and poor technique.
Anyway congrats to the winner and podium last night

My race exactly. Those freezes were causing me some mental issues and I remember one in the Kink. It's like your life pauses for 500 milliseconds. I love the cars, tracks and competition but the AMS2 server configuration is subpar. This may be my first and last AMS2 series until they get that resolved. But even with the issues it was a fun race. Hang in there Martyn. I'm struggling too learning the new sim and getting a lot of things wrong.

I normally built my PC too. Your PC cannot be the problem... Its a rocketship. I usually adjust the setup to match it to my driving style. I watched some youtube videos of Steelcast 27 on setups for AMS2 they are helpful to make the car more controllable... A more controllable car gives me more comfort in pushing. I recently bought a CSL DD what gives me a bit advantage but previously I had a T150 that was also good to drive as well.

I will race the next round and practice like hell. Toni thanks for the offer I might take you up on that . I will make a video of one of my laps and if you kindly cast a critical eye you may spot something I cannot see:).

I was looking at the standings of the Road Atlanta but I see that the qualification times are incorrect. I see mine now as 1:39.364, but I did a 1:38.585 from the top of my head. I also started the warm up lap from pole. So I found it strange that it is different in the standings. Is it possible that that is the reason I got the pit lane speeding penalty. Because I was ahead of Gary when the lights when green. Can you check this, cause then this game hasm more bugs than just the lagging. Thanks in advance.

Processing results for AMS2 can be difficult. We download and read the result file, which is a json file. And then we can usually count on Simresults.net to help verify the results. This is what Simresults is showing for the Q session. You will also notice Toni listed twice, which causes our results processor issues. When bad data happens, the Admin (Rob in this case) has to spend time sorting things out. Let's see what Rob has to say.

I see it also registered 2 laps... I did three stints. out lap, qlap in lap. Can I find logging data of the sessions on my own PC to see if it registered something about these sessions? I did not save a replay of this. Where can I find these files if possible?

I’m not sure about AMS2 but maybe it doesn’t track out and in lap times? Rob can possibly answer that.

Was there an issue in previous race results when reporting the car driven? This time around I was correctly listed with a Reynard Ford, but in previous races it says I drove a Lola Ford. It looks like this was the case for everyone.
