No .. But I will check it! It's set up for a 2pm start with 1X time excel so it is set correctly. The issue with all ACC servers is, the internal clock will run 24/7 when the server sits empty. So if you're joining and its night simply exit & rejoin if your by yourself. If there is more than one player on the server everyone needs to exit/rejoin to get the server back on its proper 'set time' ...
I remember when we raced hungaroring, every few times i would joing and it be raining hard.... same issue. I was on it last night with daytime conditions
Going to be tricky this time.. Need to be pinpoint accurate in car placement with no run off just sand. Happy with pace, i'm not sure ican keep the concentration up and not hit those huge kurbs!
Hey guys, i have a little problem for tonight's race beacause before i have to do a 4 hour which it's starting at 6 PM. I have to do the first 3 hours so, is that a problem if i join directly into the qualy?
Long time since last done with ACC but track must be in my top 3 favourites and is just made for Porsche ( dont know why anyone would take any other car for this, no matter what the sim ). Started badly from pole and half the race was giving pressure to @Riccardo Riva . Sometimes i would just give some room just to test my speed and see how fast i would close it again. We havent raced before so didnt really know the driver and im a chicken in passing with this sim so plan was to give pressure without risking lines and if no errors, just pass in pits. Had extra fuel to make it possible. After pits track had rubbered nicely and started to settle in there nicely. Had really great pace and felt like i could try for 1.22 laps without a risk in that notorious left hander. Well got under twice but on both occasions was watching clock and cheering loudly and went wide on last corner. Didnt gain time but game didnt want ro give it to me.
It was a great battle you had with Riccardo! I knew the Porsche would do good there & the BMW also had good pace! Hats off to the few of you who showed up & raced & way to go Andrew staying on the podium! The iron man award goes to Mark Ekins as he obviously had issues leaving the server and coming back a few times but he stayed in it & never gave up! I really don't know why we have such poor attendance lately & I'm sorry about that.. ACC is one of the best sims out there & has huge online following & It's MP net code is one of the best. I hope we can get back to where we were with 15+ drivers but IDK? sim gamers are a fickle crowd I don't know what we're doing wrong as I see tons of servers online with 20+ drivers every day ... Let's hope the rest show up next round or at least chime in with why they're not showing up anymore?? I know we only have so many tracks to choose from but It's the same tracks as these servers run
@Rob Milliken Your right it is a shame we dont have bigger grids. Some people just like to drop in on a race and not have to worry to much about how they drive or finish or don't have time to commit to a league schedule. I know that there were a lot of other big races on this weekend maybe that accounted for a few. Unfortunately things outside our control play apart in drivers not being able to race. I know Pete is away in France marshalling Lemans, an opportunity that couldn't be passed up. It doesn't take anything away from the hard work from you guys at SRO every league series ive ever raced in always has ups and downs. So just keep doing what you guys are doing and hopefully it will pay off, i did manage to watch parts of the stream though which was great to watch. And as you said hats of to Mark Ekins for staying in until the end.
When its something i was looking forward as a test if just for myself at this track and the practise i had put in and i don't get to race many long races as you can see above most multiplayer races are 20mins for some reason....I thought i would stay.. If just to see what the problem was.... I hadn't realised they released new DLSS files, saw something posted on facebook about the latest one, so thought i would download it and replace the old file. The first time it crashed at the end of practise i didnt think about it... When it did it at the start of the race... with the message about ran out of video memory finally sinking in.. I went in and changed the DLSS to balanced as it was set to quality. Then it did it again and i disabled DLSS. Only subsequently when looking did i see people comment that it caused crashes in ACC. My fastest a few days before was a 25, so to see people doing 23's was a bit depressing and was expecting to be at the back. Pace in the race though was good, in the 24's trying to mind my own business being 3 laps down. Why it decides to lock your controls for 90secs when joining the race mid session is stupid; Im already behind the field as it is... Unfortunatley real life is back, half term, two bankholidays....people are out away. I've previously commented that i dont think people can commit to a saturday night every two weeks, others will just dip in and out, it depends on how serious you want to take it....Lost count of the number of people i would have considered friends through it, on teamspeak weekly, then they just stop, drift away, lose interest, lose the enjoyment.
Thanks Rob, it was a real struggle to keep that brick on the track in the second half. I still don't know what had happened during the pit but it was just crazy slidy. Yep same here, I just look at it as they are running qualy laps. their practice sessions they were only doing 3-5 laps at a time. so thought I would have a chance in the race as all my work is done with race settings. I was hoping for my first hat-trick, but during Friday practice when Talvitie and Riva pulled low 24's again I thought meh 2nd feasible but stay with them because if they clang I get the pole. From the start though things weren't quite right. Rear pressures didn't get above 27 Psi on the rears, yet track temp of 37c they should of been nearer to 28 Psi. most of the practice sessions all week the track was at 36c so those pressures I had set were spot on for that temp. During the race though, it had the same track temps (37c cooling to 36c) but the pressures were way off yet same setup :/. I made a mistake in qualy by taking tyre set 10 instead of the next clean set (normally set 3). I reserve set 10 and 11 for the race but had to change it to another set at the start so I took set 7 and set the pit stop during the formation lap to change to set 8. During the pit stop my race display showed that I pitted on set 7 they changed to set 8 and I set off but it instantly went back to set 7 after I pulled out the box. I still don't know what happened, but the car was just slimy for the rest of the race and it bit me at the cork screw a few laps in where after it spun me a second time whilst the car was straight (Repeat of Rivas spin at Spa) 2nd place went bye bye. Its down to the the next race to decide if I have a chance at the championship. I need to finish 1 place ahead of Riva in one of the events to keep him behind, but I also need to finish 2 places ahead of Balli in both the remaining events. Tall order with Kyalami, Catalunya is one of my favourites (hoping for an F1 drive here in the next few years ) so here's hoping for some good runs.
Can you explain what you mean by reserving or setting tyre sets in the pitstop? ACC removed that from the pit settings a long time ago..The only option with tyres is dry or wet.
in your setup you save it with the tyre set you are using at the time: when you are racing you can go into the pit HUD screen and set which tyre set you want fitted to the car: The only thing I cannot remember if I did or not is pressing the "enter" button to confirm the requested changes using the HUD. I save the setup with tyre set 10 during practices. I load the setup and change the set to "5" during Qualy and reduce the fuel. Just before the race I load the setup which resets the fuel and loads set "10" onto the car. I normally then have no issues. This time though I had to change things on the fly - loading the setup, changing to set "7" and then during the formation lap change the pit HUD to select set "8" (where I don't know if I hit the "confirm" button.
It was my birthday weekend so I was busy for this one. This is normally a fun track to race at so would have been good for another date for me. Trouble with attendance is the grid is not big in the first place so when there's a few people missing it really hurts overall. Summertime is always bad for sim-racing too. Some weeks I just don't feel like sim-racing or don't have the time and other weeks I race 3 nights in a week (which is a lot for me). I take it seriously, but not there is nothing at stake to force me to do it religiously. It's a hobby.
