Welcome to the SimRacingOnline Summer series FIA GT1 2010 Championship

All cars are NON-DLC and free to download.
Copy / paste the 6 files inside to your rFactor2 Package folder and install the 6 cars inside the rF2 game in "Packages".

    ****************************************************************

This series is based on the FIA GT1 2010 Championship.
We will be running the official tracks of the 2010 season in the same order:
    1. Silverstone
    2. Brno
    3. Spa Francorshamps (Studio 397 DLC)
    4. Algarve
    5. Sao Paulo

All the cars of the FIA GT1 2010 season are represented in this summer series and all cars have the official FIA GT1 2010 skins.
(you are free to use custom skins)
    Aston Martin DBR9 GT1
    Corvette C6R GT1
    Lamborghini RSV GT1
    Maserati MC12 GT1
    Matech Ford GT1
    Nissan R35 GT1

We also use the same official points scoring system as the 2010 season.

    ****************************************************************

    Formation lap procedure

    How does each race start?
    1. The race starts by a formation lap and rolling start (that's why the race time is 62 minutes).
    2. From the second to last corner we go double file
    3. the pole-sitter holds a speed of ca. 120 km/h from that moment on.
    4. The race starts for everybody when the pole-sitter crosses the start line.

    ****************************************************************

No-shows (keeping the entry list real)
If a driver does not show without unregistering for that event or letting us know that he can't make it on the event forum, he will be removed from the series.
If he is no longer interested in the series, it's fine like it is.
If he forgot about the event, he can sign up for the series again.

(You don't have to unregister for the whole series. You can unregister only for the event you can't do.)

    ****************************************************************

No Esc. on track rule in Qualification
In qualification, you can not press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again.
If you want to do another run, you have to come into the pits first.

This is to protect the other drivers from someone taking abnormal risks to set a good lap time and crashing (other cars).

    ****************************************************************

    Pitstop Window

    For the record:
Please note that you will be disqualified from the race if you fail to pit inside the pitstop window, which is between 35 and 25 minutes to go.
There is no margin. You will get a DQ even if you are 1 second early or late. This is just like it was in the real series which we are simulating.

    Side note:
You have to practise without Traction Control or ABS, since the GT1 didn't have that.
Server will be up 3 weeks in advance.

Alfa Romeo 155 v6 Summer series

    Hi guys,
Thank you all for joining this series. With this great turn-out we're going to have some awesome racing.

Also please consider joining the Alfa Romeo 155 v6 summer series. It's a Touring car from 1992 without TC or ABS providing us with some authentic old school racing.
You will not be disappointed with the quality of the car, in physics, sound and appearance. And ... I've chosen some exceptional tracks to race on.

    Hope to see you there.

  9. Hello John, regarding the Alfa 155 V6 series, wouldn't it be better if you turn it into a DTM 1990s championship with the addition of the BMW and the Mercedes?

I've decided to bow out of this, being 5-6 seconds off the pace and all. Good luck everyone, hope you enjoy it.

Don't let the aliens chase you off Joe! some of the best racing takes place away from the pointy end!~:D
There's plenty of good racing in the back & mid pack!;)

I'm probably more than 5 seconds away...my only goal is to finish the race!!!:D

I am the same. I am not sure why we are so off the pace, it makes no sense.

I think you'll find that anything in the 1m 50 region is just a hot lap with fresh tyres, low fuel, and fast track conditions. Race pace should be quite a bit slower.I hope.
If not we're all screwed
