Grats Toni. Well driven. Grats finishers.

Rfactor has been doing some weird things lately. This time, my mirrors disappeared! So I had to look at the telemetry to see if someone was close enough to make a move on me. It sucked as your blind on who and where a move will be made behind me. I had fun though, even if it felt I had horse blinders on. Now I have to find what key that is again, next time it happens.

Other than that, the racing was great. Good racing all.

    Johnny,

Q was strange, hadnt done single lap low fuel so ok i guess.

R was hectic! I woke up at start when car was going backwards. Remember thinking, its ok, if go backwards surely that is not a false start lol.
Well took drive through and actually had to wait good time for everyone go through. Dont know what would it give me if do a penalty and lead race after that by 5 seconds :D
Race pace was great. Had car tuned like i told i would but had put it soft as possible. That will call for smoother handling cause of slower weight transfer of chassis but it will save tyres if not spin it.
Had some great moments there with lots of drivers. 2nd stint took it home.

You could have timed it so that you got your qual position back. After all, you did complete your penalty and did not win position by going back to your second place.

No-shows (keeping the entry list real)

If a driver does not show without unregistering for that event or letting us know that he can't make it on the event forum, he will be removed from the series.
If he is no longer interested in the series, it's fine like it is.
If he forgot about the event, he can sign up for the series again.

The following drivers are removed from the series as a no show:

    Caitlin Penny
    Yusuf Macit
    Carl Middleton
    Paulo Rodrigues
    Joe Pinder

    FIA GT1 Setup

This was my setup for Silverstone. It's a tweak from Toni's setup (which is a bit too loose for me LOL).
It's pretty fast and stable through middle and high speed corners.
It can be applied to all 6 cars in the pack, except for the gearing, which is unique to each car.

Did a few quick laps at Brno with it, and it also works pretty well there.
    Give it a try.

I had softer front and like John said, was moore loose on the rear.
Its not motec made, all my sets are like that, no matter the car . Good base to work on.
If want more wings John tipped that off aswell in the event broadcast.
Dont hesitate to ask set on practice server, tho it will be the same.
Watch tyre temps and adjust setup if needed.

1# fast car is not allways easy, need to adapt.
2# finish races - you can outpace anybody else but yourself.

    Grats Toni!

    Well...

Not sure what was wrong in Q, but it felt like my connection had gone ping-wrong or something and it caused me to lose all sense of grip and confidence in the car. Then my last possible lap was ruined by... let's just say he's done it before, and did it after: forcing a pass when he had nothing to gain and gained nothing from it.

Added a tick of rear wing and started the race P8.

It was fun for the first ? meters -- until T1 -- then it was a "bumper car" nightmare. Then it was 2 - 3 minutes of cautious frustration leading to a pit for much needed repairs, which thankfully corrected a 45 degree steering wheel and bad tire vibrations in about 29 seconds stationary (!).

    Started lap 2 in P18 with a 30+ sec deficit to P17.

Then it was maybe 55 minutes of great fun. Finished P9.

Used a mid-downforce set (2/21) that lacked only a small bit of top-end, but was still capable of a 52 flat in practice, treated the tires well and felt very pushable (and catchable) in the race.

Hope to have better luck at Brno.

[Other people's sets don't usually work for me, but anyone wanting to talk about my approach can PM me. But, really, John and Toni know what they're doing and you can't go far wrong starting with their advice.]

I've read where people say this is a low down force track. Kudos to Toni and John for sharing there setup. I started the race with a 2/16. Tried 1/7 and 1/10 and actually ran faster times in practice but felt I was flirting with disaster in the long run, for the race. The Corvette, I don't know, feels more like a muscle car compared to others. The Ford, Lambo or Aston just come out of exit corners just more smoothly, like a sports car, while applying the gas as the corvette tends to grip, grip and then bam, your ass is hanging out in a drift session. I'll continue to drive the Vette as Rob has given me a sweet paint job that screams, MERICA! I truly enjoy it. My actual first paint job ever.

Again, I enjoyed the race and how everyone was locking their tires haha. I think I saw smoke on every lap.

Good to hear you still had a positive approach to the race after that.
It really sucks being taken out at turn 1 in the first event.

Well that was more fun than expected. I am sorry for those in front of me who lost positions at turn one of the starting of the race. From my point of view it was kind of a reverse grid situation. I was far enough back from the mishaps to just point the car and go past a lot of cars. !6th to 7th. What a driver.
I later let a few guys past so as to lessen the hit on their ego.:p Finished 12th. If I can’t get any points I should at least get danger pay?
I really enjoyed the racing. After 4 months waiting to get my pedals repaired I gave up and replaced them. So I put the dreaded G27 back into storage and got to enjoy a better bit of kit.
The GT1 cars are great to drive. I seemed to have picked the slowest car to race. Actually it was good and handle quite well and was easy on the tires. I may have used a bit too much wing, but nothing could stop the Lambos and Fords from zooming past. I caused a bit of a bump up mid-race at Stowe putting my nose in a little too far and sending 2 other cars off track. It appeared we all survived and drove off. Sorry my bad.
That was a very busy race with a lot of traffic to deal with. I was being chased by a lot of cars that where quicker than me in qualifying but not so much under race condition. I am interested in seeing how each car gains or losses at the various tracks coming up. Congrats to the podium guys and all the rest for of us for turning a race that could have a disaster into a really fun race for all.

    Thanks for the memories. :)

  17. Glad you guys enjoyed it! If you have any suggestions/ideas/things you would like to see during the broadcast, please let me know!

I can't wait for Round 2! Kudos to everyone who was able to tame these GT1s. I saw new names in rF2 and that is great!

See you all for the next races boys. Cheers

Well would be cool to be able to follow lap times all the time if there is the possibility in the overlay.

Back to Rfactor with these cars that seem successful! :)The objective was to finish the race, if possible not last, it's done!! Despite numerous errors, including 4 pit stops (fuel error, then s/g and again pass trough) it will probably be better for the next one. I did a few laps with the configuration proposed by John, but for the moment I am not improving my lap times despite this setup which is very different from mine!! I deduce from this (but I've known it for a long time) that the problem comes from my driving...:( the modern ones don't work for me!! it doesn't matter, finishing will be enough, the sound of the corvette is enchanting. What a pity not to have with Rfactor2 the older fiagt as in gtr2;)

  20. We can surely try to show the laptimes, although this would mean enlarging the overlay square itself. We'll see how this can be sorted! Thanks for the heads up Toni and again congratz for that magnificent drive. Really entertaining and fun to watch
