This thread is for choosing the car in your class and the skin. Aswell as for questions about the series and (race) comments on the series.

This is the carpack and division:

LMP1 Audi R18 e-tron Quattro / 3 cars (Ready 2 Race pack)
LMP1 Toyota TS040 Hybrid 3 / cars (Ready 2 Race pack)
LMP1 Porsche 919 Hybrid 2015 / 2 cars (Porsche pack) (+ 150 kilo's for preformance balance)

LMP2 Oreca 03R / 4 cars (DLC mod)
LMP2 Ligier JSP2 / 3 cars (DLC mod)

GTE Ferrari 458 / 3 cars (default content)
GTE Corvette C7R / 3 cars (dreampack 1)
GTE Porsche RSR 2017 / 3 cars (Porsche pack)


Rules:
1. The race will start with a FULL formationlap.
2. Race starts at the last chicane. No overtaking before that point.
3. Incidents will be reviewed after the race.
4. Penalties for this track are set to OFF.
5. The LMP1 Porsche 2015 has a 150 kilo's weightpenalty for preformance balance.
6. Qual starts 18.00 BST - 20 minutes.
7. Race starts 18.30 BST - 144 minutes.

When choosing your cars Keep in mind the Porshe 919 Hybird will be balanced via ballast to even it out to compete with the other P1's .

All other cars will be stock weight unless we find any issues in testing . (test drivers welcome) we have a server up already SimRacingOnline-WEC-Round-1-MR-ABCN-STRACKER (no pw)

To keep things from getting out of hand we need some info :

For car and skin selections Drivers will need to supply the following info in there posts! .

1. Player name /Team name ..

2. Players steam GUID ..

3. Car selection / this will define your class ..

4. Skin selection/info ,what livery you want .. if you have a custom skin you will need to post a link or send it in ..more info on this to come with the skin deadline ...

Which Ferrari 458 is it, the GT2 or the standard model?

OK I've spent 1.5 hrs trying all the P1, P2 and 2 of the 3 GT cars at Barcelona using the default setups and I'm struggling to find any enthusiasm for these cars except the Porsche 911 RSR.

Reasons:

1. Default setups are usually pretty safe/stable and easy to drive but most of these are not that. Some of the values in the suspension area are just plumb weird. E.G Ride Height in 2 of the 3 P1's is set to 8 front and 1 rear!! Come on, when has that ever been right?

2. No external engine sounds for Audi/Toyota in replay.

3. Audi/Toyota have a weird "underfloor" driving view as part of the selection, which suggest extremely poor quality control/testing by the devs.

4. On the main straight at Barcelona, when I get up to high speed 2/3 rds of the way down the straight, I'm getting strong FFB wheel oscillations around the centre position which are worst in the Audi, slightly less in the Toyota and absent in the Porsche P1, P2 or GT cars.

5. The P2's are so loose in default I just can't believe it.

6. The P cars seem to have big problems with the kerbs in slow i.e. 60kph or less, corners, and just go off track so easily. Default setups should not be so extremely sensitive to this.

These observations are not because I haven't driven AC lately as I ran a GT3 race today without these experiencing these problems.


If I do decide to race it will probably be the GT Porsche, but I'm far from convinced to do it at the moment, which I'm sorry to say.

As of the 4th of june the LMP2's Ligiers and Oreca have been updated and the updated files have been uploaded.

You can find the new files under "file package" here:

Please delete the "old" LMP2 files and replace them with the current one's.

 

No rules realy , once you deside on a car you may use your own custom skin or choose a default ! If you have a custom skin you need to get it in to me by the 15th , 3 days before the event ( or sooner) !
