WELCOME TO ROUND 1 MELBOURNE ALBERT PARK

The Albert Park Circuit is a motorsport street circuit around Albert Park Lake, three kilometres south of central Melbourne. It is used annually as a circuit for the Formula One Australian Grand Prix, the supporting Supercars Championship Melbourne 400 and other associated support races. The circuit has an FIA Grade 1 license.

Although the entire track consists of normally public roads, each sector includes medium to high-speed characteristics more commonly associated with dedicated racetracks facilitated by grass and gravel run-off safety zones that are reconstructed annually. However, the circuit also has characteristics of a street circuit's enclosed nature due to concrete barriers annually built along the Lakeside Drive curve, in particular, where run-off is not available due to the proximity of the lakeshore.

    Drivers briefing

    1. This event will be broadcasted
    Broadcaster: Rob Milliken

    2. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    3. Melbourne Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal
    3) The race will be 100% dry
    4) Damage is 100%
    5) There is no TC or ABS

    4. Standing start.
The race starts at the green light. No formationlap.

    5. There is a mandatory pitstop to change all 4 tires.
There is NO pit window. You can stop whenever you like.

    6. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the Melbourne.

    7. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    8. You can find the server by first typing sro

    9. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

Also... I had a little test with these cars, can you flat upshift and downshift without blipping the throttle?

    Yes, no problem doing that.

I made so many mistakes today. I'm not happy with myself. I got a drive-through for track limits, I didn't put in enough fuel in the pits, I had several offs...
Even so I should have been on the podium, but the game registered the right-hand side of the pit straight as a track limits infringement for some stupid reason and it gave me ANOTHER drivethrough.
    Goddamnit.

    Messy stuff but fun.
Probably caused @Phil Brown exit since i was in the blindspot and not sure if my car was far enough. should have lifted.
At start went upside down and little touch to wall too so car had decent aerodamage, but not sure if that made difference.
Good fights, maybe little agressive tonite :/

I came back to this league thinking maybe some of the driving standards would be improved. What was I thinking?! Racing against people that are UNABLE to go side by side through a right hand corner and not force me off the track nearly into the wall.

What a complete waste of a Saturday night when I could have been doing something far more enjoyable.

No-shows (keeping the entry list real)
If a driver does not show without unregistering for that event or letting us know that he can't make it on the event forum, he will be removed from the series.
If he is no longer interested in the series, it's fine like it is.
If he forgot about the event, he can sign up for the series again.

The following drivers have been removed as a "no show":

    Paul Villiers
    Alaoui Nassim
    Dan Houk

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Sometimes things go wrong for a driver because of a mistake of another one or a misunderstanding or whatever. I don't think anyone of us is an intentional wrecker. It would be best to just call it "one of those things". We've all been there. I'm sure it will be better next time :)
