I quite like the latter half of this circuit. The first half can go screw itself :D

    Drivers briefing

    1. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    2. Salzburgring Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal
    3) The race will be 100% dry
    4) Damage is 100%
    5) There is no TC or ABS
    6) Track limits = 7

    3. Standing start.
The race starts at the green light. No formationlap.

    4. There is a mandatory pitstop to change all 4 tires.
There is NO pit window. You can stop whenever you like.

    5. The server password will be changed on race day. You can find the password for the race server on the event page Salzburgring.

    6. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    7. You can find the server by first typing sro

    8. Please use the same (real) name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    9. Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

I had my wisdoms pulled. I'll have to sit this one out and have more energy for Sunday's race. Have fun all.

Toni and Caitlin were very quick today as usual in this car.
I saw that the tires would go down fast, like in Cleveland. So I thought I would let the front guys wear out their tires and save mine by being more careful.
But ... they could go fast and save (enough) tires anyway. So ... bummer haha!

Grats to Toni for winning the race and the championship. Well deserved!

Thank you all for supporting this series!
The numbers were a bit low, but that's to be expected when selecting a difficult car to drive. That's not everybody's cup of tea.

Off the pace and hating the tight corners and chicanes.

Let the front 2 get away to try and save rubber I would need at the end of the stint. Unfortunately I was always second guessing myself where to brake for the chicane as the time of day had changed significantly from practice, qually and warmup. It would undo me and I spun into the barrier dropping me to last luckily still with my front fender.

Made steady progress in the first stint trying to catch up, coming across Mr Summers and Mr Milliken when they had problems. I think I only ended up passing one person legitimately.

Always slightly unsteady coming into that fast right hander at the end of the lap. Could make no sudden moves and the car just went where it wanted to. Had a couple of scary moments when the rear nearly decided to overtake me. I spat myself into the barrier so many times in practice.

One of the leaders pitted and began gaining. Coming into the fast right hander I felt as though my car had locked it's rears and I went full broadside into the slower right hander that came after. I think it more luck than judgement that the car didn't do a 180. Unfortunately this was my in lap and I had already unselected damage, but this punt turned it back on and I was left getting it repaired at the pitstop. Unsure if that is something I can turn off? Jim the crew chief has never heard me well enough to do it by voice.

Spent the rest of the race looking at my fuel numbers hoping that I got the fuel milage right. I had no hope of doing laptimes to catch third with a 15-20 second deficit. I finished with 1 lap of fuel left.

    48 mins of pain!

Shocked I ended up 3rd in the championship. 4WD was hard to figure out, I don't think I could ever do it.

Apparently so! These races give it a work out!!

You won't see me in the GTE series, as those cars bore me.

Sorry about the punt, Neil! I was caught off guard by how much more grip I had than you in that sector and just misjudged it. My fault!

Congrats Toni! You were by far the fastest in this race and you deserved this championship.
