Fun cars for sure! My inability to save tires really cost me in this series  So this race I tried to conserve as much as possible easing up when not under pressure but that was not working out to well as I was under pressure a lot! lol:eek::D
Had a little time while in 3rd to rest the tires a bit until Ken finally caught up & then I needed to push again rFactor 2(rFactor2.exe) Screenshot 2022.09.13 - 13.28.08.11.jpg
After 2 or 3 laps of nose-to-tail racing, the front left was crying for mercy & I had nothing left to defend with & lost the position..
Next in line was Scott in 5th but i had about a 4-sec gap so started again trying to save the tires. With about 5 min to go he finally caught me and by now my front left was at 98% used:eek: never the less I started pushing again to try and save 4th figuring I just go until she blows lol. Nothing I could do to keep him behind me so lost another position ending in 5th :) .. very happy to finish the race without stopping for tires. lol this is what I had for the last 2 laps... rFactor 2(rFactor2.exe) Screenshot 2022.09.13 - 12.06.10.65.jpg
Grats to Michael for the championship & hope to race these again soon! But with mandatory pit stops & 4 tire changes! :p

Track layout it's an issue I had for a long time.
Now I've learned to enter server (correct layout loaded), exit (layout remain selected), start single player with AI and follow them few laps to check the layout. Worked for me every time.

I am some what sorry to have missed the 5 previous races but moving can do that to the best laid plans. This mod is terrific. With the wheel physics update my Thrustmaster is giving me great feed back. Started 7th ended 7th, with a lot of excitement in between. After a few laps and a lot of activity ahead of me I found myself in 3rd. Rob slipped by while I was trying to hard to stay ahead of him. Next on my tail was Jagged Jagger who lent on me into that wiggle in the middle of the straight. Rather rude I thought, not an excuse me to be heard.
After a few laps I noticed my left front was red and not cooling down so I pitted and left with a new set of softs in last place. After warming them up I aimed for Stephen who was about 20 seconds ahead with 6 laps to go. I caught him on the end of the last lap. It seemed that suddenly there where 2 cars ahead of me doing some kind of synchronized spinning. I am not sure if I missed them or they missed me but I made it to the finish line, 2nd from last. Ya!o_O

Now when most off the steam is down to some what acceptable level.
Congrats to all podium players and to Johnny what a pace as always:eek: and to team mate Michael , not sure about the Team standing.
To Admins sorry but not this time , even though I see you´r dilemma here.

With great deal off frustration , I took a decision to try the "Short version" but my frustration just grew for every
lap I lay down there (so ultimate boring ) couldn´t get it right for 40 min in practise , I still did the chikan to the right until
Michael told me I did it the wrong way.

Still a lot off frustration at the start grid , ponder if I should just leave or what .
so off focus about the start of course I got a fraction on the wrong side.
And then I just couldn´t get rid off the penalty even though I try three times all due to stress and to little time in RF2 still.
Sorry to see so many had issue with the connection , wish it would have been me insted.

It was a big shame to see some of you get disconx at the start and its happened to me several times, but of course our rules do not allow a restart unless it affects everybody. Sorry you missed out guys after committing your time to race this final event of the series.
I seem to remember you repaid the compliment about 100m later going into the right turn exit of the chicane Michael, so didn't lose the position at that point.

That is the trick. I practiced "only" 20 minutes on the long track the day before, respectively, fine-tuned the set-up for the long straight.
On race day, I turned up 10 minutes before the qualifying (just arriving at home after a three-hour train ride), which means I had just three laps on the shorter track before heading into qual.

Of course, it's very easy to say from my position, because i only lost 20 minutes of training. But I don't really understand the excitement, I could still use some of the experience I gained. Both in the set-up and in the track knowledge, ultimately only the straight became shorter, and you would have to learn two new braking points. Three laps are certainly extremely little (even for me), but with an hour of training it should be bearable. Not ideal, but mistakes happen, and I think they tried their best to deal with it.

You'd like to know my secret? So do I! :D

I don't think my start was much better than Jonny's. And in the end I just put the first gear and accelerated. I would normally also use the clutch pedal, but unfortunately I am missing the pedal. Therefore, my starts are also mostly rather crap.

At first, I was still unsure, because Björn has already irritated me, with which one drives off sometimes unintentionally earlier. However, I did not start right away with him, but really only when the traffic light was off. On the other hand, maybe it helped to sharpen my senses?

There was some minor contact, but I was obviously lucky and you were unlucky. With the terrific chase to catch up, the pace was certainly there to drive right up front.

As in Hockenheim, I tried to conserve the tires for the first half hour, which works much better when there's nobody in front of you.

Thanks guys for hosting and competing, hopefully see you soon on track.

When I noticed that a car was approaching from behind, I started to push. I could have started a bit earlier because of the tires, but I preferred to be a bit more cautious.

Who needs practice. I jump in 5 minutes before qualifying without even knowing the track. It's good practice this way. Sometime I even do a lap in the race with my eyes closed. Just to make sure I know the track.

Of course, I'm being sarcastic. The more practice the merrier is what I say.

The 1st time I spent more than 3 hours of practice for a big race only to get taken out at T1, I said never again!

My 1st sim may have been the arcade game 'Night Driver' (see my avatar) and I actually have done the hard track with my eyes closed a few times w/o crashing. (way too many quarters spent.)

    Thanks for the congratulations.
Of course I would have liked to drive the race. But in the qualifikation and short vor the race i fell from the server.
I hope we drive this car in the future again.

I don't like the short term layout change either, even if it wasn't such a big problem now.
I'm one of the rare riders who have to practice a lot to finish in the top ten.
Then it's annoying when I practice the wrong layout for 4 hours of my precious time.

Congratulations to the podium and see you in the next series.
    Thanks to Ken for hosting.

I mean technically, if you practice a lot, you should actually able to drive it blindfolded. Did you? :p

Again, nobody is advocating for a mystery track series, I said this situation was even less ideal for me, because of course you need every minute of practice. But when someone tells me, that all of his practice was wasted because of the track change, then this is simply untrue. Another thing is, learning the long track with practice done on the short track is more difficult than vice versa. At some point, when an error occurred, you are unable to fix it to everybody liking, but I do not see the point to exaggerate. But what do I know, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Phil, you are a friend for a long time, so i dare to tell you, you are wrong at this point.

    1. All top drivers are practicing a lot, no wonderboys here. I have seen aliens here and at Race2play, who once had no time for preparing, they suddenly were in the midfield.
    2. Another layout means another track. Maybe long layout needs Wing1, shorter and slower layout demands wing 4 and larger radiator.
    3. I refused to start because of this one: we practiced maybe 100 laps, its a long track. I was only familiar with the old F1 layout at the beginning and i was not in the mood of thinking about every corner, left or right , new braking point etc.
    4. Admins do a great job , this time an error appeared, never mind.
