So, I'd just like to point out my situation and get some help in my journey in both sim racing and PC gaming in general. I'm 46 years old on Thursday. I've been on xbox since the 360 release. Before that I had a few computers growing up. ZX Spectrum, Omega (think it was called 64 but not sure) Then I had a SNES, then N64, Gamecube and Wii. So, I've been pretty much an xbox gamer for the past few years. Yes I like xbox. currently have the Series x. Don't panic PS4 fans, I still have one of those. All that said I find myself in a strange position, perhaps a situation many of you have been in before. All my friends {online} are on xbox. So, me trying to get into my gaming PC has been quite a lonely experience. So yeah, I really like ACC. It's the game that introduced me to sim racing. ( I enjoyed Forza motorsport for lots of years but only on a controller and to be honest after using ACC and rFactor 2 I don't class FM as a sim as such) but I feel I'm out here on my own. I go racing online (Well try my best to be clean and race fair) but I'm just feeling a bit isolated with it all. I've not tried rFactor 2 online as It's very new to me and I would prefer to understand it before I try online. But how do players connect online and get involved? I've spent a fortune on my PC & Monitor so wan't to get into it all. I've got steam and xbox installed. Just wan't to really get into online sim racing, find some decent guys just out for good racing etc. How do I do that??? Regards Sean
If it's a matter of finding the server ...: 1. Type in the password that you will find on the SRO event page, like this event page for example. The password is on the right side. You will also find the mod and track links to download there, alongside all the info concerning the event, duration, final results ect. 2. Start up the rF2 game 3. Go to multi-player 4. in the multi-player search box type sro 5. And you'll find all the sim racing online servers that are online. 6. Normally the event is built up like this: Free practice / Qual / Warm up / Race If you want to know more, let me know
I would suggest thinking about joining a Team here at SRO and you can then practice together on our servers and chat on either our Teamspeak channels or maybe Discord. This way you can get advice and help from the Team in improving your performance. Any Team want to invite Sean to join them for some RF2 collaboration?
I play even mmo's mostly solo so cant really help on that social part. But just pick a series and join up and get started and welcome to SRO
