All members should familiarise themselves with the starting procedure to be used for ALL races in this series https://simracingonline.co.uk/threads/race-start-procedure.37789/

The pole sitter should not exceed 150kph/85mph on the formation lap.

The race starts on the exit of the final right turn onto the start-finish straight.

"The top qualifier may accelerate at the final turn to officially start the race."
Can cars pass on the exit of the final turn?

I have added my race setup if anyone is interested; https://simracingonline.co.uk/carsetup/carSetupDownload/68

IMPORTANT: Logitech G29 Operating Range (Angle) is set to 380° (this will give you the optimum laptime on this setup)

I think this is a competitive setup. But I have not raced in the first two rounds of the championship.

Setup Notes will say "4:37.555" this is my 5 lap race time at 7x fuel/tyre/timescale (71L fuel, standing start)

UPDATE: I accidently uploaded revision 2 instead of 3. The file is now R3 and is the latest version of my race setup

Passing is allowed before the start/finish line for anyone if the car ahead does not get a good launch on the exit of the final turn or for some other reason does not accelerate away as normal. Cars are required to be in single file on the formation lap, so passing while technically still in the turn is not allowed, other than for the reasons stated here.

It would be nice to make it past the first 5 laps without being taken out... so much time wasted practicing! Was going to take it easy and let the race come to me. No such luck.

    Oh well.

My screen went dark and blue, was it just me?

It was very confusing and I nearly crashed at the beginning. Somehow I got used to it but strange that this first appeared in the race and disappeard after the weekend was restartetd o_O

Anyway, not my best race but still fun fighting with some of you. I hope I was not in the way of the frontrunners, even though at Indy Car races the meaning of a blue flag is slightly different to the European standards. At least at the first time you see it :D Oh dear.

After turning on the Race session, my world looked like this
Unfortunately I had the same. Why only in session: Race?
This and other problems ended my adventure

OK qually. Knew it was game over when I was slower than Johnny on softs when he was quicker on hards. He made those last too, my tyre wear was too high on the fronts. Way too high. So plenty of setup work to look forward to before Mid Ohio.

Started 3rd and was up to 2nd at the first corner.
A few laps later I lost it under braking for the final turn and slumped to 6th.
But was quickly back up to 3rd at the pitstops.
Phil pitted just infront of me and unfortunately my pit stall was right in front of his, so I fear I blocked him in - rather scuppering his pitstop. Sorry!
Resumed 2nd but Johnny was miles ahead and could cruise home.
I came home a secure 2nd place after a good race.
My fronts were wrecked so I need to work on that.
Well done @Johnny Gutierrez for a great win.

18 drivers on track for the race. That's a good number. Let's hope it stays like that :)

I intended on a one stop strategy giving me fuel and tires halfway through the race. For some reason I also scheduled more fuel on an emergency second stop just in case it wouldn't be enough, but it was overkill for this race distance and really should've just been a splash. Everything was going well up until my scheduled halfway stop. I didn't realize until I was sitting in the box that I had no tire change selected, because I called the stop late in the lap and my box is one of the first on entry. Got my fuel but no tires. Went out for a few more laps, but didn't feel safe on the dead primaries. Pitted again for new alternates and was forced to take that emergency fuel that I didn't need. Is there no way to change how much fuel is requested on a stop while driving?

I wanted to go back to the topic of yesterday's problems.
In addition to what you can see on the screen, I also had a slight cropping of the image. (second race in a row)
I don't know about this and I won't guess, maybe there is someone who recognizes the problem.
For me, the solution would be to race earlier in the day. Perhaps artificial lighting, additional shadows cause me performance problems. I have no problems in training and qualifying.

It sucks if your race goes like that ever all your preparation.
You can certainly change the amount of fuel and the type of tires you want in your pitstop while on track. You do that with your HUD. Tie a button to it for in the car while driving.
You can press the HUD button several times to see all kinds of info.

I have HUD navigation and pit requests bound to buttons on my wheel. When I request a pit stop, the pit stop box automatically displays. I can change tires, pressures, wing angle, repair damage, and serve penalty. I haven't seen any options in this car for refueling unless there's another in-car screen for this.

Not changing the tires was my mistake that I either accidentally selected no change or it saved that from a previous session when I didn't need it.

From memory, isn't there a setting above "tires" where you can adjust the amount of fuel requested?

nope refueling is not there, i had to go full tank. its something in the mod that banned refueling
