I'll miss this race guys as I will be away for a couple of weeks. Duties will be taken care of by my fellow Admins. :)

I may have left it the same as this
week's race Neil. Try that in the meantime.

I don't have access to the server while I'm away so I've asked John to reset the default password

The server is down because of an S397 update. I need some info from Ken Jagger before I can put it up again.

    Guys,

After the S397 update the Slovakiaring has become unuseful. As you can see below it has become "bright".
I am replacing it with "Hungaroring". A track most of you know and will have no problem learning in a short time.

uf.. thats surprise at the race day for me. Usualy I need 100+ laps to be able to drive at least my average. Lets see then what I can do without proper practice ;) Also, I dont see any display issue with the Slovakiaring. GRAB_004.JPG

If the problem was only due to my software, I'm very sorry. I thought the track's graphics were corrupted by the update as you can see by my picture above.
If I made a mistake with this, I humbly apologize.

Enjoyed the race, although I couldn't get any closer to the guys in front, so I wasn't able to put pressure on anyone. Strangely, I seemed to get more grip as the race went on  Grats podium and finishers.

I tried it yesterday or day before and sucked. Decided not to race at all after 5 laps of quick tour or something..mostly run offs.
Today had nothing to do, last free day and work tomorrow evening so dediced whatta hell ill doit and did like 90 mins of laps before race.
Something just clicked, car was lively and alive and just kept pressing gas.
Also these corners are tricky, the have variable profile each one and you gotta know them.
Q i did 1st fast one was wide in that fast right hander but i timed it anyhow so had to go faster or be in shame. Managed to do clean lap with a time enough for pole. 1 tenth? close one.
R @Neil Wood had a mightly launch and saw it in my mirrors. Turned wheel to the right slightly and let car wonder there and squeeze him out of space. Dont think he had more than an inch eventually so took my brakeline to the left to give me good line to corner and leave that inside open while he would have to turn very tight and lose all that speed.
It wasnt pretty but it was that or drive behind him for 45 minutes.
I was in awe of the car for whole race and no mistakes, nothing so very happy about the stint.

This track was VERY BRIGHT!!! Can we check these tracks some time? Or perhaps change session times to be mid afternoon? Some of these older tracks that haven't had their graphics updated for years look like a cartoon!

Congrats Toni, very good pace from the top 4 in general. The better topspeed of some cars is a miracle for me, no idea what I would have to do to allow that. o_O

Anyway, finally a start without an issue, but as Toni said passing is very hard here. So I tried to follow Ben and Kostas. That worked to some extend and as a special reward of this achievement I gained a front-row seat of their intense battle. Of course, I was also first in line to benefit from any mayhem. Which came at some point so I gained two spots. I tried to pressure Paul afterwards, but he drove a very good race and I had to let him off the hook, as my force-feedback back suddenly died.
Strange, not sure why that happend. I managed to get used to that, but I was also lucky that approaching Ben let me off the hook aswell.

Regarding the track change, I do not like the Hungaroring much, so I was not that delighted. And we had that topic with wasted practice time before, even tough this is not my biggest concern  I understand the discomfort. I cannot comment how bright the Slovakiaring was/is but for me the Hungaroring was fine. We had much worse, where the curbs where so bright you could not see them. One time I drove with sunglasses on ... another time Ken changed the start time and we had a night race. Worked both, but probably the sunglasses are not the best solution

Neil, I don't know how you do it with VR. I have tried a couple of times but my problem with VR is, all it takes is a small itch or a watering eye and you are screwed! Also the peripheral vision is so bad. I gave it up and went to triple screen, omg, it is so much better. you are more aware of the cars around you. Of course you can't stick your head out the window and look at your tyres. LOL Good on you that you have the will power to ignore any natural body issue that could torment you when stuck in VR.:D
