WELCOME TO THE PORSCHE GT3 CUP 992 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

    INFO
We will follow the official Porsche Supercup 2023 calendar in the same order.

    DLC: Studio 397 Porsche GT3 Cup 992 (only € 2,50 now)
Skin pack: We will use the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain 2022 skin pack from Steam.
Tech Specs: Technical specifications & performance

The Porsche GT3 Cup 992 has "almost" no setup options, which means that everyone will be driving basically the same setup. The driver will make the difference in this car, not the setup.

    From the official website
In 1993, the Porsche Supercup debuted as the pinnacle of the Porsche one-make cups. Held as part of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, it took the international motorsport scene by storm.
What is it that makes the Porsche Supercup so fascinating? First, of course, it is the exclusive environment of the champions league of motorsport. The Grand Prix circuits on which the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars run their laps prior to the F1® race cars, are among the most famous in the world: Rascasse, Parabolica, Eau Rouge, Stowe are all names of some of the most well-known corners that get motorsport enthusiasts’ pulses racing.

    Info from Studio 397
According to Porsche themselves, the 911 GT3 Cup is the world’s best-selling racing car, and with championships at both national, regional and international levels, often with consistently packed grids of drivers for many consecutive years, that claim is a very easy one to believe. But, why is this car so very popular with fans and drivers? Put simply, the 911 GT3 Cup family of cars, of which this 922 is the most recent, represents exceptional value for money, a thrilling driving experience and one of the most iconic shapes in the automotive world – all of which combines to elevate the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) into the stratosphere of desirability – plus, it’s a damn fine piece of engineering that rarely fails to test your driving abilities to the limit, which is never a bad thing with this type of car!

Faster than the 991 it replaces, with more downforce and increased corner capabilities, the new 911 GT3 Cup (992) has been improved in almost every single area, making this the most refined 911 GT3 Cup car built by Porsche to date. With performance now capable of producing 510 hp, plus optimisations around the intake manifold, electronic gearshift and power steering, fully digital cockpit, larger rear wing, and a double-wishbone front axle headlines amongst the onslaught of changes that came the way of the new 911 GT3 Cup (992), the latest in a family of models that dates all the way back to 1990 is a true thoroughbred racecar in every conceivable way.

    Drive | Rear-Wheel
    Displacement | 3.996 cm³
    Performance | 375 kW (510 PS)
    Weight | ca. 1,260 kg (2,778 lbs)
    Length | 4,585 mm
    Width | 1,902 mm (74.88 inch)
    Wheelbase | 2,459 mm (96.81 inch)

    Formation lap & Standing start
    How does each race start?
    1. The race starts with a formationlap.
    2. At the end of the formationlap, you lock in to your red square for a standing start.
    3. At the green light, the race starts.

No-shows (keeping the entry list real)
If a driver does not show without unregistering for that event or letting us know that he can't make it on the event forum, he will be removed from the series.
If he is no longer interested in the series, it's fine like it is.
If he forgot about the event, he can sign up for the series again.

(You don't have to unregister for the whole series. You can unregister only for the event you can't do.)

    ****************************************************************

No Esc. on track rule in Qualification
In qualification, you can not press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again.
If you want to do another run, you have to come into the pits first.

This is to protect the other drivers from someone taking abnormal risks to set a good lap time and crashing (other cars).

For those who are not familiar with Teamspeak, you need to add the Sim Racing Online channel to your "bookmarks".

    Maximum number of drivers

The maximum field for all 6 events = 32 drivers.

    Hi!
Is it free to choose skin from the skinpack or is it one skin for each driver??

    Hi Jonas,
The whole skin pack is free to choose from.

It does help the overlays for streams if we know who is taking what cars so we can replace team names for grid and results.

Good suggestion, but that takes more organization than I have time for, so we're just going to drive the cars as is. :)

No Organisation really needed... just a post from a driver which car they will take, I will do the rest (and pass the vehicle override.json to Rob if he wants it).

Okay, you can take the floor on this forum ... take it away :)

After the first race I'll know who is in what cars anyway so I can possibly adjust the json file.

You have to hope that no one chooses the same number ;)
@John vd Geest where will be the race broadcasted? Can you share the link of the channel?

It's no problem if they do... just need to know which number.

The broadcast will be on our own YouTube channel: SimRacingOnline
Normally Rob Milliken puts the link up an hour before the race.

Key: Custom cars unable to override
    (XX) - Actual race number

Surprised we have so many duplicate cars on track. For broadcast overlays, custom teams don't work. Custom paints put in a mas file in the car folder will though to display the right custom teams for broadcast.

If any of the 30 drivers signed up for the next round can let me know here the car number they will be using so I can put the team names in the broadcast overlays for myself and @Rob Milliken.

    Thanks!

Not sure what you mean about the "team cars", Neil, can you elaborate? They're the only ones that show the proper team names on the "watch" tab list. The car icons are something else. I've tried to figure it out, but as far as i know rF2 has never shown custom skins properly there. But it's a complex system they've devised, so if i'm wrong, and someone knows how to accomplish that, please advise!

Ed and Johnny will stay the same, i assume. I redid mine based on car #25.
