For the first race of the season I will do a simulation of the financial break down of a racing team. Leaving things to the last minute I found my credit card had expired, with out a replacement. My racing kingdom for $8.99 ca.
No cash No car! No race.
I await the arrival of the magic plastic wafer to regain my financial stability and ability to buy bits on the internet.
See you at the next round.

    Cheers.

That IS a shame if it comes down to 8,99. Well, hope to see you in the next rounds because we're following the real European series and the car is a blast :)

Fun Following Tim. Goal was just to keep it safe and follow. That's it! Car issues. CTD. Such a love/hate relationship with RF2.

    Grats to winner and finishers!

    Cheers,

    What about formation lap guys?
I thought there was a formation lap and I stared very slow, 2or 3 guys overtook me during first lap

I saw now, I had 2 CTD, The first in qualy, the second in warmup, I had no time to watch the chat
it would be better not to change the rules on the last day

    The regs say standing start.

Also, with a formation / standing start you don't get the red lights coming on in sequence.

My fault then, I was convinced that there was a formation lap

    A shame Johnny... classic rf2...

Sorry to guy that died at the airpin in qualy... was so focuse in front, with the guys slowing me down (a bit frustrated) and forgot to check my back... that's on me, sorry again.

The race itself was a painful one... lack of practice and experience with this beautiful car... but I take the finish alone...
Lucky to make it to the end ... fun one but I shouldn't have pushed this much, this soon, in this track... need to understand this car better, first... and workout a setup for the next one.

Special mention to everyone else that did a fantastic job around me... and very respectful blue flag.

Bravo Kahel, you didvery few mistakes, it's not easy to be so precise on this track

In the "'general Info & Rules" there is written "the race start with a formation Lap", but it's no problem anyway, my fault not to read today's chat

    Qualy:
Went out in qualy and lost both my laps to track limits, went back out only to end up on my roof at their hairpin overtaking traffic, not sure if it was Kahel but was my fault not yours for cutting too much the inside. Thought I was out of qually with no time on the board but car righted itself and managed to get back to the pits for one final attempt with 5 mins to go, just two flying laps available and could not believe it when I cross the line on provisional pole with a 1:33, I had always been in 34s during practice so was astonished, abandoned the second flying lap as I slid too much.

    Race:
Thought I was gonna loose the pole at the start as did not have a clutch pedal or lever and could not avoid getting bogged down, but managed to stay in front, was pushing hard in first 20 mins and was surprised to build a 6-7 sec gap to tim as could not get close to him in practice, then I realized I had used 55% of my front right tyre with 2/3 of the race to go and started to panic a little and suspected I used too much tyre trying to build a comfort gap and tim was conserving tyres, from that point on I was trying to save the front right at all costs loosing time in left handers whilst trying to make it up in right handers and keeping a gap to tim incase of expected issues with traffic, luckily with careful management, the tyres stabilized at 20% and did not have any major issues with traffic which was a relief, tim lost over 20 seconds for some reason with 5 mins to go so was just trying to keep it off the barriers and not violate track limits, very surprised I won given that the lack of downforce does not suit my aggressive driving style but i'll take every win I can get.

Thanks to everyone who was very well behaved when I came to lap them, no problems at all which is really something for Monaco, real world racers should take note.

Thanks to Rob Milliken for the stream, will watch it now.

First Win and 4th place for my new Team "Black Cat Motorsports" with my team mate Robin Taylor. The team is named after my cat (and robins) (see profile pic) who sadly passed away a few weeks ago so this is a fitting tribute win.

    Thanks to

    Hi Matteo,

you are absolutely right. I forgot that there was a formation lap and standing start for this series. My apologies.
From the next race on, it will be in place again:

    Formation lap & Standing start
    How does each race start?
    1. The race starts with a formationlap.
    2. At the end of the formationlap, you lock in to your red square for a standing start.
    3. At the green light, the race starts.

Grats for the win Nick. To win here is really an accomplishment!
I first thought the profile pic was a black panther :) Yeah, it's always sad to have a pet die. They are also one of your children.

Good racing guys. So many fast guys. I am hopeful my lack of pace was to do with the track and not the car. Still, I had fun and finished P12 out of 17
COngrats to my team mate Neil Wood for his great P6 finish. See you all in Austria :)

What a track to start a series on! That was intense, I'm surprised that I managed 55 minutes without a catastrophic mistake, that's a whole 50 minutes more than I was expecting. Stephen or maybe Barrett I think (can't remember exactly who), I need to apologise for hitting the wall on the tunnel exit directly in front of you and dragging you through the chicane, there was no real excuse for my mistake, was having quite a boring lonely race in second up to that point. Picked up a track limits drive-through and somehow some sort of time penalty for the excursion.

Congratulations to everyone who survived the race, especially Nick who showed us all that there is no point being shy of the tyres for the first few laps, the time gained is in the bag.
