When you make a custom team that displays as a separate driver, this can't be overridden in the broadcast overlays. I can't be sure if the team name displays correctly in the broadcast overlays for them. If you have your skin as an alt for an existing skin, this can be overridden to display the SRO team name on the broadcast overlays.

Well, this was fun! Not...
Messed around with the overlays today, damn i respect you guys who have this figured out. I think i managed to get out team cars working on the overlays (but i know shit about that so Neil and Rob can let me know). Even got car icons working with it (but not in game "watch" tab). I'll add a link to a zip file in a couple minutes.
Just a note on our team car numbers, mine is 22, Ed is 23, Johnny 4.

Here's the custom overlay folder i did.
You would need to have the team car folders (which arrive as part of the game's skin transfer process) for it to work properly, i assume.
But again, i know squat about this, so it may only be working on my computer because of some other files i already had.

No, you don't.

Overlays are completely separate from the in-game stuff btw.

 

I can replace numbers that appear on broadcast. The numbers refer to the cars people are using (no matter what number you paint on your car afterwards).
