So, I take it that we are using the replacement download for Silverstone then?

    That is correct.

I am not sure what the problem is. I downloaded the car and while testing it I found it at times impossible to shift up or down. At the Rings corner 3 I rolled along till I was moving straight and stuck in 4th gear before it would shift down. There is nothing wrong with my paddles shifters. Do I need to set something up?

it will reject shifts if you downshift too early or try to shift up at too lower rpm for the gear, however I noticed in the red bull ring race after my incident on the first lap I was stuck in 4th gear and had to pit to rectify it so not sure if there are some situation where it can get stuck in gear.

Good explanation, although I have never had the issue that I was stuck in 4th gear.
@Michael, because you can't shift down with even a little bit of throttle on, you might also want to check if your gas pedal isn't "spiking" a little. Then you have to clean the potentiometer.

I think it’s the autoblip that’s doing it. It seems to be very rpm dependent on downshifting

Does someone notice that AI has longer gear?
AI upshifts from 4th gear to 5th gear at about 210 km/h, my car in 4th gear doesn't exceed 197 km/h. In the setup gearing is blocked, so I think is a bug of the AI.
Does someone else detect the same behaviour?

I couldn't do Silverstone but now looking at Hungaroring page I see I am still registered. This means I failed to unregister for Silverstone for which I apologize. I assumed I need to register for each race.

Edit: wait, it is not too late. Unregistered for this one and will be doing next one.

    4. Qualification procedure
    1) The Qual time will be 15 minutes in total with light rain.
    2) Chat is not allowed during Qual.

    5. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    6. You can find the password for the race server on the Silverstone event page.

    7. You can find the server by first typing sro

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. No-shows (keeping the entry list real)

If a driver does not show without unregistering for that event or letting us know that he can't make it on the event forum, he will be removed from the series.
If he is no longer interested in the series, it's fine like it is.
If he forgot about the event, he can sign up for the series again.

(You don't have to unregister for the whole series. You can unregister only for the event you can't do.)

    10. Please use the same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    11. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.
Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
