I have no experience in this class and no setups, also no time to prepare due to full time for other races, but I will go to the server closer to the qualification to support the company
Stefan what happened..fuel or letting them race in front of you? I thought we'd have a better fight since I ran about 10-15 laps of practice in the 58's. Did a 57 in Q with race setup, but nowhere near that in race. I was all
Thanks to Roman, Scott ,Rob who turned up to make a larger grid , It was not looking good, and Ken was having Issues joining to make matters worse. The car is a fun car to drive , but I really find it hard to get the consistency on the laps , That turbo is ferocious, wrong gear and it just bogs down, you could make a cup of tee then all hell breaks lose. The Last 6 laps were a worry as I realised I was going to run out of fuel and might have to pit. Luckily I manage to eek it out till the finish line. Dam this car likes to drink congrats to the podiums and hope some more guys join. Thx to all
I only saw after qualifying that by default the turbine was working at 80%) I thought that I would lose the lap, but from 100% I was a little closer. I'll try to find on the Internet the setting for this car
These are some of my favorite cars in PC2 when the turbos kick the beast comes out! & 1st gear is your friend! so when I found out I was suddenly available I joined with 7 min left in Q! I Jumped in the BMW with the default set and had a blast battling with Ken and Gerhard Sux the numbers are so low so I made a quick vid of 4 laps of the epic mid-pack battle! Sorry, you won't see any of the leaders 'except for lap one' so congrats to the podium. Here is the battle of the backmarkers for 5th place! Enjoy (watch in 4k if you can)
Great video Rob, thank you. I enjoyed this fights a lot. You know what: at 6:17 i lifted the throttle and did not defend. Why? i saw no chance to pass Ken and thought, my chance could come when your dogfight with him starts. But you passed him soon and i was attacking him till the last lap, but could not crack him. Our fight was a lot of fun and a good example for hard racing but leaving enough space anytime. Grats podium and all survivors.
A great snapshot of our race Rob, I enjoyed it a lot. If you drove with default setup in the Beemer then maybe I need to look at it again, as due to my pre-race connection issues I got no practice in the Capri, so also used default which was not easy to drive. The video made it look like you had a much faster, grippier car especially under acceleration out of most of the slower turns and positive handling into and through them. I only wish the Capri had felt that good!
Really good job Rob , very entertaining, and great editing. Looks like you had a great battle with Ken and Gerhard, great driving by you all, looked real fun. Great sound effect when you went off and had to catch up, made me smile, was it from scooby doo? awesome.
I literally jumped in the car and never looked at the garage page, it had 118L of gas in it too.. I found I needed to use 1st gear in all the slow turns & which got the turbo spooling up but had to be easy on the last few inches of the throttle until the tires caught up or I would spin as you saw in the vid lol .. It did seem like the BMW was a bit quicker then the ford in parts of the track! good fun, glad I was able to join as my PT appointment was canceled at the last min.
@Rob Milliken ,just as a note default set up is 80% on the turbo, just in case you do another race in it . Go on you know you want too 100% lol fly past.
