Hi guys. I'm trying to race in Assetto Corsa but I'm new at using it. I have a couple of difficulties. First I can't find a fuel usage indicator (how much fuel I have, how much fuel I'm using per lap, that kind of information ). Second, I'm must be doing something wrong but I'm unable to configure my wheel or keyboard inside a session, online or offline. I have to exit the session to configure. If someone could help me, thank you.
A couple of handy apps! ACRLfuel | RaceDepartment Helikorsa | RaceDepartment Assetto Corsa game hotkeys ‒ defkey
You must have Helicorsa installed to be able to join any SRO AC server https://simracingonline.co.uk/threads/mandatory-app-for-all-series.37691/
It was tough but fun. Joined server 50minutes before and got it going ok but then messed up Q. Race was nice, we had lots drivers with similar pace and even podium was on sights. Putting pressure on @Philipp Pichler ( when could ) and that payed of after a while and started to push and use little those extra hp's but then game 1st gave me another window on top of game and after that it froze so i had to min max it and managed to get back to race again and ofc behind Philipp and @Kimi Martikainen . Had to really fight past those guys and managed to doit with boosting on exit of T1 even tho we both went wide there and then couple laps side by side with Kimi. Was sure we gonna jettison somewhere to the orbit but we didnt! Eveyone else were long gone so rest of the race was keeping Philipp behind then but he just kept coming and coming. Somehow survived to the finish. Good race, gz podium!
Quite a contrast to the last race, the positive things first, good battle with Toni and Kimi, oh and beside a little tap without consequences (sorry Manuel) no harm caused... other than to myself. The two spin strategy is not a good choice. Race pace was not bad, but I could not really use it. Other than Kiril and Roy, who were in a class of their own. Congrats.
So this race. Quite a change from last weeks one. In practice the car was very stable once the tires were up to temperature. Setup wise only had to make a small change from the Snetterton setup. I knew that in racetrim lower 1.36's was the time to aim for. Only wasn't sure the tires would last doing those times. A well, it would have to do. Quali, Not having tested the car on quali fuel I had no idea what lap time would be possible. First fast lap was a banker lap. But then Kiril had a good one and went in the 35's. Ignored that and just did my laps. Turns out the lighter quali setup gains about 0.5 sec. That pole time was faster than I thought possible. Race, At the start my goal was to keep Kiril behind me. To my amazement he sort off missed his start (looked like that anyway). That gave Phil Brown a chance to get by him. They had a bit of a tussle for a few corners making them lose time. At the end of the 1st lap I had a 2 sec lead. This would pay off at the end of the race. As I had that lead I was taking it relatively easy and not taking risks. Tires needed 3 laps to get up to temp. But then I noticed Kiril closing the gap. I decided to go in quali mode and try to do a string of fast laps. Turned out that string of fast laps got stretched to the full race. Used the P2P on a strategic point as Kiril seemed to gain nearly 0.8 seconds on the last 2 corners. No idea how he did that. Maybe a difference in setup and using the P2P. Anyway, I was able to pull away at a rate of 0.2sec per lap (on average). Then when starting the last lap I only had fuel left for 0.8 laps. Short shifting and doing some lift and coast would have to get me to the finish. Coming out of the last corner the engine died. I saw Kiril getting closer Long story short. Crossed the line 1.9 sec ahead of him. If he hadn't lost the time on the 1st lap he would have won Good race Kiril and all of you guys. Next 2 tracks I'm not really a fan off. Knockhill is a dark horse for this car, and Cadwell Park.... Ah well, it's the same for everyone. Cu you guys at Knockhill
Yes, my start was bad. I somehow did doubleshift right in third gear. But I was able to overtake @Phil Brown again pretty quickly. We both went wide on the fast right, but Phil went even wider. I thought at first that the 2s I lost as a result weren't that bad. But when I started doing quali laps and the gap didn't get any smaller at the beginning of the race, I realized how hard we both pushed the limits of that poor car. Yes, I softened the front a bit so I had more grip out of the slow corners and that helped mostly in the last sector + I used P2P on that particular lap to try and close the gap faster to apply more pressure. But with that setup change I had less precision in the fast corners. Not sure if this decision was that good. I don't really know how you could do the whole race low 36's, @Roy Cop. My tires really wore out at the end. Anyway, very very well done on that win. I guess I will have to find out how to keep the tires alive for 45m for the next race Cheers all
