    [IMG]WELCOME TO ROUND 5 MONZA

The Monza Circuit (Italian: Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, lit. 'National Automobile Racetrack of Monza') is a 5.793 km (3.600 mi) race track near the city of Monza, north of Milan, in Italy. Built in 1922, it was the world's third purpose-built motor racing circuit after Brooklands and Indianapolis and the oldest in mainland Europe. The circuit's biggest event is the Italian Grand Prix. With the exception of the 1980 running, the race has been hosted there since 1949.

Built in the Royal Villa of Monza park in a woodland setting, the site has three tracks – the 5.793 km (3.600 mi) Grand Prix track, the 2.405 km (1.494 mi) Junior track,[4] and a 4.250 km (2.641 mi) high speed oval track with steep bankings which was left unused for decades and had been decaying until it was restored in the 2010s. The major features of the main Grand Prix track include the Curva Grande, the Curva di Lesmo, the Variante Ascari and the Curva Alboreto (formerly Curva Parabolica). The high speed curve, Curva Grande, is located after the Variante del Rettifilo which is located at the end of the front straight or Rettifilo Tribune, and is usually taken flat out by Formula One cars.

    Monza start

I'm sure that everyone who is serious about this series does a lot of practice and does not want to see it go to waste in T1 at the start.
So I propose a "one-time special start procedure" for T1 and T2 (the chicane) for Monza so we can all start the race safe.

    Proposal:
    1. We do the normal formation lap and standing start.
    2. At the start, everyone holds position in single file at a slow pace to T1&2.
    3. Once you are out of T1&2 (the chicane) you are free to race.

Give a like if you agree.
Give a disagree if you do not agree.

    Drivers briefing

First of all ... Please make sure that you are in the 2023 car and NOT the 2022 car.

    1. All 7 events of this series will be broadcasted
    Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam
    Broadcasters: Lorenzo, Sameer & Ricardo
Twitch broadcast link: https://www . twitch . tv / eitharacing (delete the spaces)
Or go to the headlines on top of the homepage on race day.

    2. Monza event Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel and Tires are set to normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 10
    4) 100% damage
    5) You have to change to a different tire compound (soft/medium/hard) at least once during the race, unless it rains. Then tirechoice is free.
    6) This event has a Formation lap with a standing start.

    Only for Monza:
    1. We do the normal formation lap and standing start.
    2. At the start, everyone holds position in single file at a slow pace to T1&2.
    3. Once you are out of T1&2 (the chicane) you are free to race.

    3. Real F1 Raceday weather conditions apply

We will simulate, as best as the server allows, the weather conditions as they were at the actual F1 event.
Conditions: Mostly sunny and dry conditions but with light southerly winds in the afternoon. RACE: 28°C

    4. Qualification procedure
    1) You do not have to start the race on the same tire that you qualified with.
    2) The Qual time will be 15 minutes in total.
    3) Chat is not allowed during Qual.

    5. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    6. You can find the password for the race server on the Monza event page.

Check the driver / team list below to see what car you are assigned to.

    7. You can find the server by first typing sro

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. Please use the
same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    10. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.
Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

Sorry I am out of this round due to my ongoing connection problems. Keep getting disconnected a few seconds after going on track. One thing I've discovered is I get a massive ping of 600. Obviously that's the reason for the disconnect but I've no idea what's causing it or how to fix it. I can go onto the AC Server and get a ping of 40.
Anyone with any ideas on how to solve this issue would be very much appreciated.
PS I've been doing online races with RF2 for several years without any problems.

hi, why were you all slow at the start? I tried to avoid you but in the end I broke my front wing, I stopped to change it and I got a penalty for too much speed in the pits. But in the end I got 2 points for a sweaty 9th place

Please read post #5 and the driver's briefing post #7.
Furthermore, I explained it in the chat during Warmup and I explained it ON the formationlap.

Rocco Mina and I have discussed this privately and he has agreed to a drive-through penalty for the next event.
