    [IMG]WELCOME TO ROUND 6 SUZUKA

Suzuka Sākitto), is a 5.807 km (3.608 mi) long motorsport race track located in Ino, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan and operated by Honda Mobilityland, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co, Ltd. It has a capacity of 155,000.

Soichiro Honda decided to develop a new permanent circuit in Mie prefecture in the late 1950s. Designed as a Honda test track in 1962 by Dutchman John "Hans" Hugenholtz, the most iconic feature of the track is its "figure eight" layout, with the 1.2 km (0.75 mi) long back straight passing over the front section by means of an overpass. It is one of only two FIA Grade 1 licensed tracks to have a "figure eight" layout, the other one being the Fiorano Circuit.

The circuit has been modified at least eight times:

In 1983 a chicane was inserted at the last curve to slow the cars into the pit straight; the original circuit was an incredibly fast track with only one slow corner; without the Casio chicane some cars would go through the final long right-hand corner flat out and then would go past the pits at more than 200 mph (320 km/h). In 1984 the first part of Spoon was made slightly slower and the corner was brought closer to the track to expand run-off area there, and in 1985 the first corner was made slightly slower.

In 1987 the circuit was brought up to F1 and Grand Prix motorcycle standards for both Japanese Grand Prixs of their respective championships, the F1 Grand Prix being the first held at Suzuka. The Degner curve was made into two corners instead of one long curve, and more crash barriers, more run-off areas were added, exposed vegetation was barricaded off and straw bales were removed (but still used for the Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix).

In 2002, the chicane was slightly modified, 130R (marked as 15 on the diagram) was also modified and some of the snake curves were made a bit straighter and faster; additionally, the runoff area at the Dunlop Curve was doubled from 12 metres to 25 metres, and the corner itself was made slightly tighter.

In 2003, the chicane was made slightly faster and closer to the 130R.

Following the death of Daijiro Kato at the 2003 Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix, Suzuka reconfigured the motorcycle variant of what is now known as the Hitachi Automotive Systems Chicane before the final turn, and added a second chicane, between the hairpin and 200R.

The circuit can be used in five configurations; the car full circuit, the motorcycle full circuit, the "Suzuka east," "Suzuka west car," and "Suzuka west motorcycle" configurations. The "east" portion of the course consists of the pit straight to the first half of the Dunlop curve (turn seven), before leading back to the pit straight via a tight right-hander. The "west" course is made up of the other part of the full circuit, including the crossover bridge; the straight leading to the overpass is used for the start/finish line and the grid. The chicane between the hairpin and 200R separates the west and full course sections between cars and motorcycles.

Damn! I have every second Sunday scheduled around this series. Changing the weeks means I will definitely have to miss out on Suzuka and very possibly Abu Dhabi also. :( Bummer. Not happy about that, but very happy to see SRO up and racing again. Welcome back. :)

    Drivers briefing

First of all ... Please make sure that you are in the 2023 car and NOT the 2022 car.

    1. All 7 events of this series will be broadcasted
    Broadcast team: EithaRacingTeam
    Broadcasters: Lorenzo, Sameer & Ricardo
Twitch broadcast link: https://www . twitch . tv / eitharacing (delete the spaces)
Or go to the headlines on top of the homepage on race day.

    2. Suzuka event Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course)
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel and Tires are set to normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 10
    4) 100% damage
    5) You have to change to a different tire compound (soft/medium/hard) at least once during the race, unless it rains. Then tirechoice is free.
    6) This event has a Formation lap with a standing start.

    3. Real F1 Raceday weather conditions apply

We will simulate, as best as the server allows, the weather conditions as they were at the actual F1 event.
Race conditions: sunny and dry conditions but with light southerly winds. RACE: 28°C

    4. Qualification procedure
    1) You do not have to start the race on the same tire that you qualified with.
    2) The Qual time will be 15 minutes in total.
    3) Chat is not allowed during Qual.

    5. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    6. You can find the password for the race server on the Suzuka event page.

Check the driver / team list below to see what car you are assigned to.

    7. You can find the server by first typing sro

    8. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    9. Please use the
same name in the rFactor 2 game as on our signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

    10. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.
Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!

Good race for me. Racing Suzuka is also a lot of fun in an F1 car.
At the start of the race I was in 7th place, but then I saw myself go up and up on the leaderboard. At one time I was even P2. And I did not overtake 1 driver for position LOL!
In 3th place I was trying to catch Robin, but he was too fast to catch and then I got a drive-through for tracklimits on the last lap and finished 4th. Np, it was good fun.

The last race will be next week December 10.
We are going to Yas Marina on the 2023 track version. See you there.

good morning, you are all too fast for me so I tried to get to the end without causing damage and not harming anyone, I got 2 points and I'm happy. until next time.

Race pace was good but got drive through penalty when going into one right hander on lap 1. Had bad view behind cars so turn in and cut and penalty.
So had to just do my own race then, luckily it was Suzuka that is very fun track to attack.
Most fights were fun and clean but one overtaking project was little more difficult. That was due to so different way of going around the track, specially braking, that it took me little more time to doit more safely. Couple times allmost hit car in front. On my cockpit it feels like someone is braketesting you in middle of the corner. I know that it is not the case but thats how it feels. Eventually got overtake done.
I had no clue how long meds would last so drove over 30 laps on hards. That was too long as meds were still great after 20 laps.
Watched stream and there is another DRS zone after spoon?!? Would have helped but then again DRS is for noobs :D

No, the only DRS zone is on the start/finish straight.

Track selection has been great. Thanks John. Racing was hard and clean and I enjoyed some battles and watching battles in front of me. Finally made my first pass using DRS. I rarely get to use it. Thanks for the fun and looking forward to series finale.

Hi, in the race I tried to keep a pace that was not comfortable for me, I have a lot to understand with the F1, too bad I didn't finish the race after 2 good duels on the track:)
