Probably logged about 200 laps in total on both the server and in private testing.

Did three 55 minute races against the AI to also learn their strategy (as it happened they don't stop at all). No mistakes in any of them so feeling good about the event.

So i was happy with my pace and the car was stable @John vd Geest kindly shared a setup with me and I tweaked it slightly to make the off corner exit more stable for me.

The only thing I couldn't decide on was rear wing level. I did some runs with 16 and some with 19, didn't make a massive amount of difference but in the end I split the difference and stuck to 18. Not sure if that was good enough though as cars were still pulling away from me down the straights.

Did a good lap in qualifying on the softs and a new PB for me, was on another good lap that was half a second up but lost it at the penultimate corner but it would have only moved me one place.

Initial start was quite good and then I spotted @John lock in my left mirror, so I gave him room, Could of closed the door but I would have taken myself out and then into the middle of everyone else. Nice start matey.

I still suffer slightly from being afraid of making contact with someone so although I was probably faster than those in front of me my worry is I'm going to take them out under braking! Anyway, I applied as much pressure as I could, mistake by the car in front let me through and I tried to concentrate to making some good laptimes.

Not sure what lap it was but I made a silly mistake and put my wheels over the kerb at turn four and that launched me into the inside wall. I hit the brakes and tried to counter steer but that was it. Big damage unfortunately.

Dragged the car back to the pits and had a 1400 seconds repair time to contend with. I did think about leaving but I'd done so much practice I just wanted to at least finish one of these races. So I shut the engine off and made a cup of tea whilst the Quick Fit boys did their stuff...

Went back out after 20 odd minutes and just hot lapped. Was in the low 31's (and the odd 30) so not sure if that was good or not but I was catching those in front of me and pulling away from the car in 4th (it looked like I was anyway! lol).

Congrats to Ricardo on the championship and a great drive in tricky circumstances.

Hoping these cars will return sometime soon :)

Nice review Andrew. Shame you had an incident with such big concequences. That setup had option tires. Hope you fitted soft tires on that setup for the race, and not the options :)

All this info is/was posted for all in the FKR DTM Championship Thread ! same place you leaned about mapping the mixture to get 6 !

Oh for sure. I did long runs on both and as you say the softs were much faster (up to three seconds a lap) over the options.

I did do one 55 minute race on one set of softs to see if I could make it, they started to drop off a cliff towards the end but I didn't do too bad! lol. Interesting to try though.

It doesn't matter if you can do 55 minutes on soft. You would have to change tires anyway :)

yes, maters how much time do you loose in the last laps of every stint

Oh it was just an experiment, in 55 minute races the AI cars don't stop so I was just seeing if I could do the same :)

    It's possible...
    With extra care for tires...
And if you're driving the 2012... softph tires would hold just fine!
