Dang this track is gorgeous. What a nice mod.
These tight street circuits are so scary when one wrong touch breaks off your front wheel lol. First time on the track I’ve gotten down to a 1:38 after many many crashes. Hoping that’s only 5 seconds off pace once you guys start putting up times and not 15 seconds off lol.

 

Think its a track im scared most off. I wonder have i ever finished with a car still in one piece...

Right, I thought I’d drive without it for now assuming qualifying won’t have it? But also, I’m already finding the wall without more speed lol. Those first two turns are such it’s like the barrier is daring you to try it just a bit faster until you touch lol.

Surfers Paradise Delux 1.3 has a cross on it when I tried to enter the practice SRO server, unable to install server mod, even though I paid for the DLC and Andreas gave me the link, I downloaded and put the files in my packages folder and installed. I see I have Surfers Paradide delux in my local content with as green tick with sub folders for 1.0 1.1 1.2 and 1.3 I dont understanmd what I am doing wrong.

There is a SRO Indycar Dallara Surfers 001 further down with a red triangle on it and a red cross. do you think t hat might be conflicting somehow ?

I deleted the other one, still the same. It runs fine on Single player. maybe there is something wrong with the one on the server ?

John asked me to work on a public setup for this race so everyone can start on a level playing field, I am a firm believer that people need to spend the time to work on a setup and learn for themselves what works and what does not and how different setup changes affect the car, its all part of being a good driver and setup craft is just as important as race craft, I put allot of work into my setups and that's responsible for allot of my pace, but for the guys that struggle to get a good setup this will allow them to hit the ground running.

Setup is good for a 1:31.5 on alternates with default fuel if you can hook up all the sectors, I have set it up to eliminate as much understeer as possible as if you run wide and hit the walls your out at this track, without it being too unstable at the rear. These cars are tyre limited at the front compared to F1 cars so its impossible to get rid of all of it, you need to select 118 wheel base for this setup for this track to make it the most nimble in the tight corners.

I have gone with a max downforce setup for stability over the kerbs but progressive throttle delivery is key with these cars, you can't just stamp on it like the F1 cars due to the crappy tyre compounds, if its too oversteery on entry then increase diff coast or increase front Anti roll bar if tail happy on exit. I'm sure there are some setup secrets waiting to reveal themselves with this car but in the 3-4 hours I put into this setup it should serve as a very good base, I will use this setup for my race with some minor adjustments I've yet to discover.
