In the world of gaming, the term "free" can be quite enticing. After all, who wouldn't want to enjoy a game without having to pay for it? However, it's essential to remember that nothing in life is truly free. The game in question does offer a free car to new players, which can be an excellent way to introduce users to the gaming experience. This car can be used to explore the game's world, complete initial levels and get a feel for the gameplay mechanics. The visuals and controls are generally well-received, making the initial experience enjoyable for many players. While the game's base version is free, it relies heavily on microtransactions to generate revenue. These microtransactions can take various forms, such as, In-game currency: Players can purchase "in-game currency" with "real money", which can then be used to buy additional items, vehicles, or features. Pay-to-win scenarios. In some cases, the game's balance might be skewed in favor of those who are willing to spend real money, creating a "pay-to-win" scenario. Let’s cut to the chase: this particular sim is not for the faint of wallet. The game price itself might be free, but where the budget really takes a hit is the individual purchases. We’re not talking a few dollars here and there; we’re talking about $14 for a single car. Yes, you read that right. Fourteen dollars. For one digital vehicle. That’s the price of a decent lunch, and in this game, it’s just one piece of the puzzle. Let me know what you think. Iggy Hobo
It sounded good to start with, especially with the expectations that it was going to exceed anything we had seen in previous sims, but it does now look like it's never going to overcome the business model they have put in place. Plus the other stuff like allegedly using rF1 code elements when it was all supposed to be brand new and shiny.
I was excited about Rennsport until I tried to use it. I received a 'closed beta' key almost a year ago, but still haven't been able to try the sim! Whether closed beta / open beta / Epic Games / Steam / playtest or early access; I've tried them all and have never got past the stupid 'captia' thing!!! I've given up on Rennsport.
Are you playing the version of the game downloaded from the Epic Games Store? If that’s the case, you'll need to uninstall it and download the game from Steam instead. If anyone had this game prior to early access, you will have access to all your cars, tracks, and other features you paid for at no additional cost sometime in 2025. It's unfortunate for those who have already purchased add-ons and wish to use them now, as you'll need to buy them again.
No. I uninstalled all versions, prior to installing the 'early access' version that's currently available on Steam. Regardless of the version, the result is always an 'invalid captia' notification (without ever being presented with a 'captia') and further progress is blocked.
This is intriguing. I've never encountered Steam requesting a "captcha" for security before. When I downloaded Rennsport (which I've since uninstalled), there was no captcha code involved. Did you have any other downloads from Steam that require a captcha code?
