    Mont-Tremblant 1969
    Bugatti Circuit 1967

    Circuit Mont-Tremblant
Circuit Mont-Tremblant is a 4.218 km (2.621 mi) race circuit located approximately 130 km (81 mi) north of Montreal, Quebec, in the city of Mont-Tremblant, Canada. It is the second-oldest existing race track in Canada, and was originally known as Circuit Mont-Tremblant-St-Jovite until it was renamed in the 1970s. Set in the shadow of the Mont-Tremblant ski hill, the twisting fifteen-corner track uses the natural topography and elevation of the land.

    The 1960s – 1970s
The first race was held August 3, 1964 on the original twelve-turn 2.510 km (1.560 mi) circuit and won by Ludwig Heimrath driving a Cooper-Ford. The completion of the bridge, media/officials complex and the pit stalls were ready just prior to the next race that September featuring sports cars and prototypes. Pedro Rodríguez driving Luigi Chinetti’s (N.A.R.T.) Ferrari 330 P would go on to win that race.

The Player’s Quebec Sports Car race in September 1965 would be the first event on the newly-expanded 4.265 km (2.650 mi) track and was won by John Surtees driving a Lola T-70.

On September 11, 1966 the track debuted the inaugural Canadian-American (Can-Am) Challenge Cup Series Race. John Surtees would win this event, followed by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon.

The following summer, on 6 August 1967, Mario Andretti would win both races of the twin 100-mile double header U.S.A.C. Indy Car event ahead of A.J. Foyt. A year later, Andretti would the repeat the same achievement, this time beating out Bobby Unser.

Circuit Mont-Tremblant hosted the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix on two occasions, in 1968 and 1970. Jochen Rindt started the 1968 race from pole position, but Denny Hulme went on to win. The second race marked the debut of the Tyrrell Racing team as a constructor. Jackie Stewart set the pole time and a new track record in the new Tyrrell 001. The Ferraris of Jacky Ickx and Clay Regazzoni would finish 1st and 2nd ahead of Chris Amon in 3rd.

Throughout the late 1960’s and 70’s many of North America’s other top tier race championships such as Can-Am, Trans-Am, Formula 5000 and Formula Atlantic made their championship stops to the track. Many now famous drivers such as Denny Hulme, Bruce McLaren, Dan Gurney, Jackie Stewart, Bobby Rahal, Chris Amon, Mark Donohue, Roger Penske, Parnelli Jones, Al and Bobby Unser, Gordon Johncock, Alan Jones, Peter Revson, John Cannon, Elliot Forbes-Robinson, George Follmer and Gilles Villeneuve all competed at Circuit Mont-Tremblant during these years.

My apologies to you all. I made an admin error.
When I disconnected I could see no one else on the result list and thought everybody had disconnected, so I restarted the event manually.
I realise now that I should have checked Neil's live stream first. Sorry again for the messy start. As a driver, I could not reconnect, so I was out.

Actually drove amazing race. Flatout 60 minutes with really good consistency. Considering no practice at all got everything out of the car full lenght of the race.
    Just wasnt fast enough.
Restart i really didnt know were we supposed to be in order we were or in Q order....

I had a good start and when Maddie went into the pits after lap 2 (false start?) I was in P2 until the server restart.. Also confused whether it was qualy position or not but since we had done about 5 laps already the current position would have been more logical. Maddie did go in front of me though at the restart while Kiril did not. So in P3 after the restart with Kiril chasing but he made a mistake I think and dropped back. Then the pit stops came and just as apparently a lot of others my pit crew did nothing. Was that because of the server restarts ? Not sure.. But being in VR and not knowing what to do I hit ESC which locked my controls for 30 seconds.. very frustrating, I must have spent 50 seconds in the pits. Luckily others had the same but not sure how they solved it. Some seem to have come in twice or went back and forth in the pits.. strange. I had the new CSP update installed. After the pit cycle I did lose time to Kiril who was now about 6 seconds behind and slightly faster. I pushed hard to remain in front and that worked out. Happy with P3, Maddie and Michal were too quick this time. I'm still struggling with finding a good setup and it's pretty clear that others had more downforce than me.
Nevertheless a good race with minor mistakes. I love the track though. It looks good and it is great to race. Not many overtaking opportunities unfortunately.
    See you next round!

I saw in the broadcast (thanks Woodee) how Michal struggled in the pits, and it was more less the same for me. Went into my pit stall and nothing happened, so my first guess was, I am not in the stall correctly, so I moved a bit back and forward - still nothing happened. I was tight on fuel so it was not option to continue. I waited a bit puzzled in my box and needed quite some time to see, ah it does nothing because in the pit options there was add 0 liters and do not change tyres...
Stupid, but yeah could have been avoided by reloading the set up, but I checked that before the restart and wing/fuel etc. were was I set them, but yeah I should have checked the pit options, too. Although it is strange that pit options were set to zero...

Apart from that, not much to say. I tried to risk more regarding the wing settings, car was a bit more of a handful than I like. But topspeed was good, which I thought was more important that the speed in the corners. Probably not true here, but yeah, gap was so big, unlikely that the wing settings were the game changer for me, because even though it was not a lonely race for the most of the time, in the end the gaps to the cars in front were quite big again. Some work to do I guess.

I was indeed confused when people started pitting but then doing a little shuffle in the pits :)

I did notice John say in chat about the qually order. Restarting put my car on the front row (which as you know I can only remove on green light). Does AC do admin chat commands? If my car was DQ'd on the race countdown would I still be able to view the race full screen?

The top 2 did race away from the field on the formation lap which left a few people behind. Maybe we should have some contingencies if we are switching to formation lap? I personally prefer a rolling start for broadcast because it means I can hide getting myself off the grid. I only found this "/pit <id>" which teleports me to the pits? I don't know if that works though.

Just another note.... if some of you can change skins so we don't have duplicates that would be great (makes me less confused! :D) Current duplicates are @John vd Geest & @Laurent Londes / @Toni Talvitie & @Mitchell Kakotsky. Possibly @Kiril Kirilov & @Paul Upham ? Although I remember there being slight differences before, last night they both looked like McLarens, not Alfa Romeo.

Tried something a little different with the onboard lap presentation this time, hope it looked OK. I know I have to balance the volumes levels of it for next time.

Last 2 rounds should be QUICK!!

I don't think we have duplicate skins, they have different driver numbers and small differences (like F1 teams). John and me drive for the same team kind of :p

Yes, it does. But you would have to be on admin status, and I prefer to let the server password to stay in my hands alone :)

I would like to oblige you, and I understand that would be more convenient, but that's not in the spirit of Formula 1. :)

I get that, are you able to do that teleport pits command on race countdown rather than me having to do it after green flag manually? I put my SteamID in the main thread if that was a possible workaround.

Yep, false start. My clutch pedal is flickering and the same thing happened in R3. The pitstops breaking is directly due to the restarts. Race restarts reset the pit menu in the setup for some reason, so you need to manually re-load the setup before the race starts. It's a shame because it seems like the majority of the grid was affected.

I was running 7-1 wings and it worked well, but there's so much time to find with getting the ride height correct and deciding how much rake you want. There really is a fine line between grip through a high-speed corner and binning it due to how the ground effect works.
