    Yeah, I guess you're right.
I'm thinking a modern race at Monza - it's probably less than 1h 20m - but it's longer at most other tracks!

For consistency, we are setting 90 minutes for all 6 events :)

Edit: this has changed. We are now doing the original number of laps as done in the real events.

I'll try a couple of cars before I decide on one...

Stupid question but is there a reason why we always do timed races and not laps (of the same equivalent time)?

Would be cool to have a formation to standing start to mimic the real F1.

Track lenghs vary and therefore nr. of laps per event. You can't have the same nr. of laps for all events.

There is no formation lap and standing start because there are always a few who do not lock in properly into their red square for the start. That holds up proceedings indefinitely and may even cause a restart.

Ya I get that... but a roundabout lap count can be found from a laptime? Or is it just ease of use?

I just noticed... this mod doesn't allow refueling :)

    CHANGE: FROM TIME TO LAPS

Neil Wood made a good suggestion to change the race length from 90 minutes to the original laps per event.
All 6 events will now be run according to their original laps.
Round 1: Jacarepagua will have 61 laps.
You can see the number of laps for each event on the event page.

Do we think this will end up being shorter or longer than 90 minutes?

Do a timed lap on each circuit and do the calculations x laps or times the real fastes lap from 1984 :)

Just love the engine sounds of the Ligier - here's a lap without Boost.
Are hard tyres recommended for the race? And what about setups to help tyre wear?
I'm used to 30 minute races and just smashing the crap out of my tyres!

You could try the hard, I do not really like it but that is probably different from driver to driver.
Meassures to help tyre deg are decrease cornering speeds (for me the front tyres especially front right) and probably reduce tyre pressures to a certain point 10/20/30 points, not sure yet. Maybe somebody else has a good hint.

Although My biggest problem is not the tyre deg, it is to avoid a crash, it is very easy to kill the engine when you hit the barrier.

That looks like a solid lap. It helps with any tire if you don't slide too much through the corners and keep it tight, but I'm sure you know that.
One should also not slam the throttle down out of slower corners, because that makes the rear tires initially spin and that also wears the rears. You should have a "grippy" exit.

You can also use the online "Max Verstappen" trick and turn the tire scrub sound to 100% in the menu to hear where you are sliding too much and destroying the tires.

Hmmmm..... I reckon Boost 2 is about two seconds a lap quicker - the car is more of a handful though...
But you can't boost the whole race?

Depends on how much fuel you carry. Don't know if it affects engine temps or not.
