The next update to LMU will come June 10th! check out the list of changes including Driver Swaps! Le Mans Ultimate, the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans is completing the 2024 Season with remaining content when the fifth and final 2024 DLC pack goes on sale on June 10th bringing 2 new LMGT3 cars and 1 new track to the game on 10th June 2025. Along with new content, the game will receive a major update focused on mutli-driver team races, livery customisation and team management, opening the experience for longer races and showcase the endurance spirit. Driver swaps We will be introducing our first events where players will hand over the car mid-race during live online endurance events using the new driver swap feature. Teams will be able to enjoy the strategy and team-work required to share in a car’s success or failure over multi-hour races. After registering for the event as part of a team, players and their teammates are able to swap in the pitlane by using the driver field in the multi-function display (or MFD). Compared to our previous titles, we have made various core code changes to improve security, performance and functionality. When anyone now joins a server, the game knows which car you have access to, enabling your teammates to configure your pitstops. This has the additional bonus of allowing any team member to resume from the pitlane in the unfortunate case of a technical issue. What’s the state of this feature in the release? Well, whilst we have intensively tested this internally, with the help of some community members, the large scale performance testing of servers and driver swap information many hours into a race is not an easy task for a team of our size. Therefore we are releasing it first only in “Special Events” so we can closely monitor performance and make adjustments in our own environment. Upcoming team-based Special Events will be published across our social media and in-game channels so keep an eye on those to find out when these will be available. In future, we will be expanding these races to create new Team-based Online Championships and to leagues via racecontrol.gg and Sim Grid as we gain confidence in the feature’s robustness. I was watching the video last night. Very interesting developments. I can see why the driver swap feature was in development for so long as it looks pretty comprehensive with team manager features, etc. However I can just imagine the complaints that at the moment it's only available on the paid subscription service, but it will take time to iron out any bugs so makes sense. I also see the inclusion of custom liveries which will be cool. I see it will use Targa files which is a nice touch as DDS files can be confusing if you're not used to them. Doesn't mention any options to change helmets just the main livery but we'll see on release. ....my only worry is like ACC we'll have an avalanche of chrome liveries on servers for the next six months...lol. The little tease of the release of the Valkerie was nice touch
RC lite (free users) can use custom liveries if their team manager (with pro/pro+) assigns it to them. They just can't upload and maintain them.
Interesting, thanks. I've only seen the video quickly so I probably missed that part. I hope that some of these features may get brought across into RF2 as it hasn't had any updates in some time and the improvements in LMU would help RF2 also. Even simple things like porting the HUD across would be very useful. However I seem to remember the team were casually working on RF3 as a side project before fully working on LMU so will be interesting to see what the future holds.
I wouldn't bet on rF2 updates. Devs have said at length that any improvements LMU has would break everything in rF2.
The latest hot fix is out! Please update your game via STEAM Update #5, Patch 1 - 19th June 2025 | Le Mans Ultimate Community
If you mean the new tyre model, I think I like it. Maybe feels a bit more real. Less time to catch a spin, but no complaints about it anyway.
I'm also liking it! BUT' Im not that fast anymore so not on the edge as much, I really like the lo speed turn in now. Before it seemed to lite, now it feels a lot better, like it seems I can feel the tires compress with more weight.. A good place to feel it is the last turn and the first turns at Spa, where you're slowed down ... On the hi speed turns once you lose it, it's gone, & I feel that's more realistic than the old tire model where you could pretty much save anything .. You need to "work" the tires just right now to not overdrive them ..
HOT FIX#3 Please note the following: We are aware of an issue for some users with certain Internet Service Providers experiencing slow progress between sessions or being returned to garage mid session. We are working on this currently but as a temporary workaround, players may be able to experience normal behaviour using a fixed IP address or VPN. A recent Logitech G Hub update seems to be causing crashes when launching the game or loading into a session for some users. This may even affect players that only use this software for other peripherals (keyboard/mouse) and not just steering wheel/pedals. We recommend rolling back this update and reporting to Logitech as we have made no changes in this area. Build ID: 18997200 Custom Liveries Fixed an issue where liveries are sometimes duplicating on to other cars Fixed an issue where custom livery machines would generate incorrect UI images Removed view and edit livery buttons as they are not functional Engine & Tech Fixed a crash on session transition Fixed an immediate crash to desktop due to the snd.conf file Fixed a game crash when ALT+TAB during loading session in Fullscreen mode Fixed an game crash when connecting a controller/wheel when the game is running Fixed a crash when launching the game with a windows account using unsupported characters Fixed an issue showing vehicle states in the monitor pages Fixed a UI/game freeze when getting dropped out of a server Fixed a game crash when playing online as the event transitioned between sessions Gameplay Fixed an issue with the player being unable to equip wet tyres from the garage after using up their allowance of dry tyres. Fixed a player occasionally receiving random worn tyres when selecting new tyres Online Fixed a crash when exiting a practice server when time is over Fixed an issue where some players have been unable to join any multiplayer session since June Update Fixed another edge case of “No Vehicle” in online race and practice servers Fixed users with long names (> 23 characters) not being able to join servers Fixed a player being unable to adjust brake bias after a crash when re-joining server RaceControl Fixed loading into incorrect practice servers Fixed registered races sticking around when the race has already finished when rebooting the game Race Starts Full formation lap wrongly leaves a gap in the starting grid between classes causing cars not to be placed correctly Race Weekend Fixed an issue where players were unable to drive in Race Weekend after being in an online session Settings & Profiles Fixed setup screen error when the setup name is the same as the track name Fixed an issue that meant users were unable to update their profile information Track Updates Spa Francorchamps - Fixed an issue for LMGT3 cars at the back of the grid on a full rolling start appearing inside of each other
