It's frighteningly fast - well under a minute per lap!

    DRIVERS BRIEFING

    1. All 6 events of this series will be broadcast
Broadcasters: Rob Milliken & Neil Wood

    2. Kyalami Conditions
    1) The race will start at 02:00 PM (in-game time of course).
    2) Time acceleration is normal. Fuel = normal, tyres = normal.
    3) Cut Track points are set to 6
    4) 100% damage
    5) This event has NO formation lap. We race at the green light with a standing start.
    6) Qualification is NOT set to "private". We go out all together at the same time for 15 minutes.
    7) See the "DISCO PROCEDURE" 1 post below.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE A HEADSET CONNECTED TO TEAM SPEAK, WITH OR WITHOUT A MIC.
WHILE ON THE SERVER, WE WILL ALL GO TO THE "RFACTOR2" ROOM ON TEAM SPEAK FOR THE RACE BRIEFING DURING WARMUP TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS.

    3. The use of the Esc. key in Qualification
Use of the Esc key during Qualifying is the equivalent of stopping your car and getting out. This may be done only in your pit stall. There are very few exceptions to this rule. Here are the only two we will currently consider. These exceptions are subject to change at any time:
    1. You run out of fuel in pit lane before reaching your pit stall.
    2. You sustain damage to your car as a result of another driver and cannot make it back to your pit stall. You must prove your qualifying session was wrecked by another driver and that you made an attempt to return to pit lane.

If you use the Esc key in any location other than your pit stall, your Qualifying session is over and you may not return to the track.

    4. You can find the password for the race server on the Kyalami event page.

    5. Unregistering in time if you can't make it.

    6. Please use the SAME NAME in the rFactor 2 game as on our SRO signup list or it won't match in our automated result processing.

You can change your name in the rFactor 2 "Profile" menu.

    7. If you plan to PROTEST another driver, you have to wait 24 hours counting from the end of the race.
Any protest filed before that time will be viewed as not received. You can find the rules about submitting a protest here.

    8. You can find the server by typing SRO or the track name. Add the server to your favourites so you can always find it.
If you can't find the server in the rFactor 2 server list, you can access this way:
    1. click on this link: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF2server/
    2. scroll down to "SRO" (it's alphabetical)
    3. choose the correct server and join with the password (see point 4 above)
    4. the server will start automatically and will take you to the event

Last but not least ... SIMRACINGONLINE wishes you a great race!
And always remember that your fellow SRO members have also put in a lot of time practising for this race,
so please be careful and respectful with your buddies. :)

    DISCO PROTOCOL

To prevent the loss of drivers to an event due to mass-disconnections, Sim Racing Online introduces the following protocol.
(TeamSpeak INFO - go to TS channel rFactor 2)

    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    - A group of discos of 3 or more have to happen within a time zone of 5 minutes, otherwise they are viewed as separate incidents. For exemple ...
Driver 1 discos at the start, driver 2 after 15 minutes and driver 3 after 1 hour, those are separate incidents.
    - The pits will remain open during a Full Course Yellow period.
    - After a disco you can rejoin with a fresh vehicle : When you get back in session, your car is brand new, ready to start in Pits and you can use "Drive" to get back on track.

In time the green lights went out I was to late on the throttle, too little revs, clutch release and the car didn't move... So sorry to all, I know it's so hard to avoid the car in front, if it doesn't move..
Then after repair I was 4 laps down. I don't know, are you even allowed to unlap yourself? Specially against the leader? Not that I even realised it, then I pressed tab to see the names and positions of others.
Anyway, sorry to all if I shouldn't do it.
After some 50 laps I mistakenly switched to neutral mid corner and then pressed "gear up" and the engine got on fire and got me out of the way.
Congrats to all finishing the race

You were not alone. Other guys also didn't move. I saw at least 2 others that did not move, of which I was also a victim and lost my nose-cone.
Had to go to the pits and get a new nose and lost a sh*tload of time.

Please grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Of course that was a shitshow, but for a reason, difficult uphill start, I practiced it and killed the engine several times. So I went for the save but very slow start and what happened then was almost comical. My car was still running but completely broken, the suspenion was so crooked, Toni was to lap me for the second time, when I finally reached my pit spot... Stayed there for three minutes and was five or six laps down, also a full lap to the next car in front.
I did not quit and pushed for the rest of the race. I hope that I unlapped myself several times did not interfere with anybodes races too much, I tried to pass on the straight and let others by, if I felt that I blocked them.
Result is ok for the circumstances, but yeah still tough for everyone involved. I hope we (some more than others) learn from that and do it better next time.

    Cheers.

Q was close, couldnt gone a faster.
R was over at start. Matej would had been hard to beat. Setup wasnt good for longer stints due to balance issues that unevenly worn tires gave to my very minimal wing car.

Very disappointed. Podium was minimum for me today but I screwed cause did not warm up enough. Hopefully will do better in France. Unfortunately will miss Imola

I had a fun race. I was lucky to avoid carnage at the start and was running up to P8 at the beginning. I lost in game sound half way through the race and this causes issues with shifting at the correct time and caught up with me in the end when I blew the engine with a handfull of laps left. Cant wait for Imola :)
