The AMS2 Server is currently updating and hopefully will not take long to complete. I will confirm further details as I have them.
Great race! Grats top 3, and Toni , who was just a few L short of a finish So sorry for whoever ran into me while I was doing 360*'s trying to get out of the grass.. I finally got onto the pavement and just stuck there, being an obstacle Tuff track, you need 100% concentration, of which I had about 40% of lol... First, a G-Hub update rendered my wheel useless until I built a new profile, then I made it in for a few laps of practice .. was doing good until the spin ... then battled back only to use up all my front right tires making it impossable to make any left handers without slowing to a crawl in 1st gear lol ..ugg ..
And I thought my 50% or so left at Termas de Rio Honda was BAD!. You need to some serious setup changes or driving style changes Rob
Joined practice and noticed brake pedal spiking. Did some reinstalling drivers, unpluggin, pluggin, restarting etc magical things and got it working and then had a telephone call tha had to take. So i went to Q without practice and 85 liters of fuel, setup from previous round. Some errors were made and managed to lap something. Race start was great and p3 for me where i studied track map while driving and trying to get into groove. Was great fun, and car felt great, following P1 and P2 and fantastic drive from both drivers!! Just not enough fuel, maybe next time
Ah that explains things, normally Toni is in the front from the get-go. To my race, I had a good start (in F1 it would have been a jump start) but Neil played more clever with the boost I guess. So I was behind him while Toni was suddenly in third. Not the best position to be in, therefore I was a bit risk averse. I felt that Neil was better or as good as I am on most of the track, expect for that long right-hander. So when I wanted to try something, this was the spot. I tried twice, got close but failed twice, while Toni took the opportunity when I was vulnerable to get into second... Rough, but I had the feeling this was not all, as Toni was now pushing Neil. Neil spun then in the most difficult corner on the track. Then after Toni used the boost he nearly lost it (good save), which opened the door for me. I just had to went through. Good everyone, I really enjoy this series, unfortunately it seems I have to miss the next to rounds, but I am sure you will have fun I am not sure if I am in the position to offer advice, but I would definitely recommend rear wing 9 or at least 8/7 because otherwise the car tends to be twitchy. It might be slower but if you already struggle then it might be better to play it safe. Apart from that, I changed tyre pressure and the brake pressure (just so that you avoid lock-ups). I needed for a lap 4 liters, so with 22 laps (was close to 23) - 92 were probably the way to go. I took 101 because I am still not sure how much the boost burns. And in addition, I assume this is trail-braking paradise. So I tried to apply those things that the guy mentioned in his videos Toni recommened (Suellio Almeida), turn in early but slightly and remove the foot from the brake smoothly while turning. Not sure how I well I did it or how important this was here, but it felt better than without.
I tested this track with time trials before this and still couldn't carry the speed others do through the fast corners. This game goes give you much time to settle in on the start to then find where the lights are. I had to duck a little to see the gantry and it was already counting down when we get put in the cockpit! I don't know if that can be changed? I probably over-revved and thought I was redlining it so I changed up then seemed to immediately bog down in 2nd. I did consider double dipping the clutch but decided against it. Car is a slippy devil with my wing level, I may just have to swallow my pride and put some more back on. I was struggling with understeer on entries and oversteer on exits. There was many a time coming out of the fast corners that the car got a scary twitch on. I had to make tiny opposite lock corrections to hold onto it, sorry if that scared cars behind. When the car starts spinning the worst thing to do is floor it, thinking I could powerslide out. Either it's just this car, or this game I can't do that But me being me and having a heavy right foot, it would be my downfall. Another race where I didn't use up all my boost. I really need to remap it to a button more in reach. There was a couple of times it stayed on longer than I thought and I nearly looped it on corner exits... particularly turn 2!! More tracks to learn for the remaining rounds, although I know Jacarapagua a bit.
Didnt get too much practice but I do have a fairly good understanding of car setup and got the car driving ok with a few good laps at the start until the rear end slid out and i went off track. Got going again but my aggression trying to make up timme led to another bad spin hitting the barrier and around and around on the grass I went. When I got back on track the car was feeling like it was on ice and i could hardly get it to corner. I got frustrated and pitted/ retired. My vr is also looking terrible in AMS2 , i need to look into this Anyway thanks Ken for the setup but as soon as i click it in received it disappears, i will look into why this is happening Congrats to the podium cyas next time and hopefully I will suss this out.
Congrats to the podium. I qualified 4th but was left at the start as I never seen any countdown lights Managed to get back up to 5th and was cruising along fine until the rear tyres wore down quicker than I expected. I set rear downforce at 5 which probably led to higher wear and on hindsight it should have been higher. This made the rear very loose and inevitably lost the rear a few times causing a few offs causing some damage. Finally finished 7th.
