I never expected to take the win here - but so pleased to have managed it in the ol' V12

I checked the fuel calcs for the car after a stint on the safe setup and found it was actually good enough out of the box to go the distance, but didn't quite handle the way I wanted so would need tweeking. Quit, re-started and tried the Aggresive base setup and instantly dropped into the high 2:02's but was using about 0.4l a lap more than the other setup - this ment I hand no chance of a no-stop and I was unwilling to believe I'd have enough outright pace on the fast setup to engage in a pitstop battle with Jeffrey and co.
So I went back and modified the safe setup a bit until I was happy. Originally it had been doing low 2:04's with 60l in the tank, I now had it hovering just over the 2:02's on full tanks when going flat out - again though the tweeks resulted in too much fuel burn, although not as much as the aggressive setup.

Over the 90 minutes the savings per lap were so small that all it needed in the end was for me to lift at the 100m board into T1, lift before the righthander into 'Hairpin' and lift into Spoon and again into 130R instead of tapping the brakes.
I did this until Jeffrey pitted and then gambled on his pace having taken too much out of his tires (and his not changing them) and then switched to full attack as he'd rejoined some 12 seconds or more behind me :D

It all went to plan and I even managed not to make any stupid mistakes - so I finished about 6 seconds in the lead with all of 0.4l left in the tank. I actually ran out half way through the S bends while trying to crawl home to enjoy a first victory

Well done to Jeffrey on silly fast pace again, Daniel on helping fill the podium with Astons, and thanks to everyone I raced with.
I was slightly less co-operative last night on allowing faster cars by as for the first 40 minutes or so I wasn't convinced I was much slower and couldn't risk my own strategy being compromised if I found myself caught behind someone I couldn't spare the fuel to re-pass. Hope my awkward off at Spoon didn't inconvienience anyone - I tried to re-join as wide as posible and think I did so without causing issues.
Sorry to the Porsche (Janne I think?) who I passed with the Abrunhosa, Gymer, Sander train. It took a lap or two realise you had obviously pitted for tires and were actually faster, hope I didn't hold you up too much.

Next time out I'm picking something with a proper fuel computer (Lambo maybe..) as the mental effort of keeping track of fuel burn through the races with only the 'total fuel used' box to help me was exhausting.

Thanks for a really enjoyable season:cool:
