Welcome to round 1 @ Imola!
Race reminders: 60 min sprint with 1 mandatory pit stop / 4 tire change.
Pits will be open from green to checkered.
    Full formation lap start.

    A little Imola history:
The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as Imola, is a 4.909 km (3.050 mi) motor racing circuit in the town of Imola, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, 40 km (25 mi) east of Bologna. It is one of the few major international circuits to run in an anti-clockwise direction. The circuit is named after Ferrari's late founder, Enzo Ferrari, and his son, Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, who died in 1956 at age 24. Before Enzo's death, it was called Autodromo Dino Ferrari. The circuit has an FIA Grade One licence.[2]

Imola was the venue for the San Marino Grand Prix between 1981 and 2006. During this period, two Grands Prix were held in Italy every year, with the Italian Grand Prix taking place at Monza, so the Imola race was named after the nearby state. Imola also hosted the 1980 Italian Grand Prix in place of Monza. When Formula One visits Imola, it is seen as the home circuit of Scuderia Ferrari, and masses of supporters come out to support the local team.

The venue returned to the Formula One calendar during the 2020 season to help the sport fill calendar gaps caused by cancellations of other races due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the race at the circuit being named the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in honour of the region where the circuit is located. This also meant the venue hosted a World Championship race under a third different name having hosted the 1980 Italian Grand Prix and the San Marino Grand Prix from 1981 to 2006.[3]

GT: The series is divided into two separate championships, the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Although the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup (then the Blancpain Endurance Series) has been organised since 2011, the inaugural season of the Blancpain GT Series was 2014, because in that year the FIA GT Series became the Blancpain Sprint Series, which is now the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup. The series was primarily sponsored by Swiss watchmaker Blancpain.

After developing their partnership, Blancpain and the SRO have decided that 2016 will see both the Sprint and Endurance Series further integrated into the Blancpain GT Series, putting the emphasis on the prestigious overall drivers' and manufacturers' titles, and causing the Sprint Series name to change from Blancpain Sprint Series to Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup and the Endurance Series name to change from Blancpain Endurance Series to Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.[1]

In 2019, SRO Group announced that their sponsorship agreement with Blancpain had come to an end, this resulted in the Blancpain GT Series being renamed the GT World Challenge Europe with the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe being renamed the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup respectively.

The grids looking better & better! were up to 17 pilots! It would be great if we could get to 20 by race day! but 17 is a nice grid:) Remember to freshen up on all the SRO rules & be aware being reckless will not be tolerated:rolleyes: .. We have the "no contact lap one" rule in place as a "gentleman's rule" & the punt rules is always in effect so lets all be on our best & kick the 2022 season off on a good note!:D

    Congrats to the podium :)

I really love to get those stop and goes, once I have at least one for every track I'll stop collecting them LOL

I was happy with the car behaviour, and confident overall. I knew the Prosche lacks some top speed, but I didn't expect it to be so excessive. I was just hoping the guys behind me missed the braking point for T1 but they did a great job ;)
I have to look into it because otherwise Bathrust will gonna be 'bloodbath' for me on the straights.

Very good racing to all the guys I found, and in general it seemed like a very clean race. Great job all and on to the next one!

Fun race until my pit stop.
As often happens with ACC the pit stop limiter did not work - So got a drive through for speeding in the pits.
And of course it did not work when I came in for the drive through. It used to happen in the early days of ACC but then got fixed. It now seems to be back again. Is anyone else having this problem?

Were you for sure in 1st gear? In ACC, like the real cars, You MUST be in 1st gear to turn the PL on. its caught me out a few times..

Yes, in first gear both times before the pit entry.

Its not like other games where you only need to switch the limiter on before the line, you do need to slow down! The engine braking won't be good enough.

Seemed everyone got their elbows out in the race, got shuffled down as I was stuck behind people in front not able to drive quickly. Once finally getting up to speed consistency helped climb a few places and was trying hard to close the gap to Roberto Balli mindful of Nicholas Holt behind but couldn't, seemed to be trading times. And then suddenly the gap disappeared, Max was closing in from behind... Literally from the pitstop to the end was full on.

Rather alot of Maclarens and BMW's.... I know the audi was easier to extract time than the maclaren, it understeered a bit too much.

    Well done to podium.
I had a graphic problem, black screens for 2-3 seconds during race. I got one of them at the turn 4 and got out of track. I lost my defending position to Alex. I decided early pit to take new tire advantage to drop front of Alex after his pit stop but 2 stop and go for 30 seconds bothered me then just sweared and pull off.
    See ya next.

No problem with pit stops here. Slow down before the line, make sure in 1st gear and press pit limiter button. Then turn off ignition when stopped in the right place. Reverse this on exit.

I was quicker than I expected tbh. No way to live with Max's pace, but he did the decent thing and got a drive through to make it more fun for himself. ;-) At the start I was stuck behind Johnny and wanting to pass thinking, wow, this is going well, I can challenge for 2nd. Then he just put the pedal to the metal and started pulling away and there was nothing I could do.

My pressures were too high in the first stint so I dropped them for second half and of course my crew cheif then kept saying temperature dropping, so my pressures were then too low and the car was quite slidey in the 2nd half, but I was never in much danager of losing 2nd in the end without a big error on my part.

I was persuaded to use the McLaren by my new team mate, but I don't really like it despite having some good setups. However I will continue with it for the season as I've NEVER EVER raced it before. It does not seem quick in a straight line and you have to slide the rear into the corners which is not my style, but there it is, another challenge.

REALLY not looking forward to Snetterton, which IMHO is not suitable for GT3 cars, too many stupid 1st gear corners. Will be a race to see who stays on the track I think.

Not sure about Bathurst being 90mins, it's bad enough for 30 mins, but don't expect many to finish in 90 mins! Would rather to have a proper track for a 90 minute race.

I kinda agree, and 90 minutes at Suzuka to finish the season sounds good. I'll race whatever Rob decides though :)

Wow ok, I didn't know you guys were so soft:p, I figured if the aussy's can do 24hrs in the V8 Supercars (complete death trap of a car:eek::D) , 90 min in a hi downforce GT3 would be no issue lol. That said, I'm happy to change the 90min enduro event to Suzuka if you all think that's a better fit. As a community I want you all to have a say :) & thats why I put up poles but unfortunately 5 or 6 votes in a pole doesn't ice the cake:D so I sometimes just make decisions on the fly:rolleyes:
Each series for 2022 will have one endurance event & deferent tracks to challenge us. With the limited track selection in ACC you need to be creative, so the obvious tracks for the 90 min runs will be selected for each 22' series, like Spa, Monza, Nurb, ect.. basically the larger tracks we have to choose from.
    No balls, no glory :D

At least if you spin off at Suzuka you don't smash your car into a wall.;)
