Race day PW set on the Champ page
Last round for the 2022 GT3 series 2 championship & it's all on the table @ Barcelona!
Less than 28 points separate the top 5 drivers with Roberto Balli holding a slim 8-point lead over Andy Tomlinson
who sits 6 points ahead of Mark Ekins
    for the series 2 title!
Taner Selvi & Riccardo Riva are well within striking range with Taner only 3 points off the 3rd place podium!
    Every point counts!
Don't forget, fast laps for Race & Q earn 1 point each.

I'm only there from a consistency view, plenty of faster drivers. Barcelona is a tough track, there is never the grip i expect around here; going to be a long race.

Hard work, plenty of pressure from both infront and behind, more about concentration to be consistent. first stint tyres were just too hot and just tried to not push too hard and slide them. Dropped the pressures 0.2 all around and much better in second half, catching and pulling away from Balli, but still that Bentley was just too quick. Nick holding up Balli for a lap helped get past him..

All i see from the start on the stream is Simon taking Nick out, no other contact....

I think with Taner dropping out it threw out the start.. not sure how the front group were going so fast on the pace lap, just trying to stay in the green position bar.

Yeah getting tired of being taken out, seems to happen every single race. Think its time I stop trying to race cleanly and just take others out ...

I was in the green all the way from double formation. I got a great reaction time to the green lights and plus I think I had less wing and fuel, which I also think Engelbrecht did as well because his R8 was able to breeze past mine on the start straight. Balli got bogged down on the start as he dropped to 4th.
My race replays show that a few ppl jumped the start in previous events, but I thought ACC punishes those that start out of place or jump start by forcing them to give the place back or get a DT, and no one got a DT so could it be a network thing??

It was a struggle to keep it quick I can tell you. It wanted to kill me every lap in T4 and in T11 with power oversteer. So I had to just wait till I got to a section where the Boat was strongest. At several points you gained, but then lost the time back. I built a 3.5 second lead then my left tyres also turned to treacle and you began closing the gap down at one point 2.4 seconds.

I had it all to do this race, I needed Pole in qualifying, the fastest lap and needed to finish 2 places ahead of Balli for the Championship. Finishing in 2nd would of put me equal championship lead, Finishing 1st would give me the championship by 1 point.

I tried hard to get pole but I just couldn't get a decent lap in. Sector 1 I was .5 second up then it would disappear before the line, then I saw Balli bag pole and I had to settle for knowing he was out of my reach by 1 or 2 points depending on where we finished.

I got lucky with Engelbrecht taking too much kerb with possible low wing which gave me an open run at the front, and then it was just manage the time gap till the pit stop. Pure fluke that I came in at the same time as Mark otherwise it would of been an Audi at the front with the way the temps were going.

Congrats to Balli for being consistent and taking the championship, god damn you Gymer for nicking my fastest lap point putting me 2 points instead of 1 point behind (would look like an epic win for Balli) and thanks to all the others for a fun set of races.

Thanks too Rob for the streams and commentary, its great fun to finish a race and then watch it back seeing all the fun stuff than happened elsewhere whilst I did the boring leader stuff.

I will see if the Season 3 schedule will fit with the new weekend rota but it doesn't look like I can.

I'm off to watch the race stream on the telly because it looks cool on the big screen :)

Bit of a quite race for me, i tried to keep up with the pack but i couldn't keep pace with them. My tyres were a little to high on the psi as the temps rose during the race which kept me on my toes. All in all a good race, I'd love some more competition in my kind of pace level in the next season (im not the fastest in the world). Big thank you to everyone at SRO for putting the series together and special thanks to @Rob Milliken for the great broadcasting and commentary, it really adds to the series in a big way.

I am disappointed to see that someone feels now is the time to 'take people out' only after 2 races, we have all had incidents where by we have been hit or knocked off but there are channels to go down, not to take it out on track. I hope it was a heat of the moment post.

Looking forward to season 3 and hope to see more cars on the grid and big thanks to all the drivers that took part :)

Again, apologies for lap 1, turn 1, rookie mistake. I was looking at the guy to the left and then I ran out of brakes and it didn't stop like I expected. I then panicked, took to the grass as lost control trying to avoid the guys in front and clattered into Nicholas who's race continued to go down hill from there. Completely my fault, feel free to DQ me, I felt really bad about that one.

Didn't enjoy that track much either, it's either oversteer on power or understeer on exit, or both in my case. Was better in second half and managed fastest lap, but I was incredibly inconsistent. Kept going off on the straights when I was looking at the 4th monitor at positions and times etc, must have looked like I was drunk,
    .
    Well done on championship Roberto.

Sounds a bit out of Character for you Nic..
We all have had our issues in our racing , sometimes you're the hammer, sometimes you're the nail..
I have said it before & I will say it again SRO is one of the cleanest places to race .. Our numbers might be low right now but what we do have are the ones who don't quit because they got a penalty, (60 % of new drivers) they stick it out to better themselves and better the racing and take it on the chin like champions do.
I Hope you have had a chance to simmer down & we hope to see you again on the grid, (& not in destruction derby mode :p). We all totally understand the frustrations that pop up whenever something unexpected happens in this sport of Sim racing, So Cheers & have a drink on me .;)
& Something I missed in the broadcast live chat was a shout out to you from South Africa from one of your mates~!~ ( I missed it because some asshat was spamming the chat with some porn site bs ..) sad we can't escape the vulgar side of the internet even in a sim racing broadcast... I will need to turn live chat off i guess .. at least we didn't get a DDOS attack! o_O:eek::D

First of all congrats To Roberto for the championship and all the guys who participate on this :)
My apologizes for disappearing 2 minutes before Quali ends, i had already high ping problems but a general power outage was the icing on cake to my completely frustration...
Me and my wife were one hour or more at the ...dark side of the moon, waiting for power to come back and meet the civilization again lol.
These are the benefits on living in Greece, after the 2020 flood, things are still not working well, we are 50 years back from real civilization unfortunately.. Pffff...
Anyways, I really want to thank you all guys that raced with, i had my bad moments and i am sorry for it, but i had a good battles too, like the one with David at Kyalami despite the fact that aliens wanted to abduct me.. :p Right Rob? :D
Special thanks to you Rob for your kind words, i really appreciate it..
I will try to fix my ping problems (actually i cant even upgrade my internet speed, my provider dont have vdsl lines available yet - i am trying over a year for that) so i can register to upcoming events properly.. We will see i will try my best.
Until then take care all guys and keep yourselfs safe...
