Tested the v1.6 update and it's pretty impressive. Feels like a different game now, for the better. - Sound: very good, specially outside the car - Physics: also very good. Feels very realistic now, also with the slow slides on oversteer, and you can feel the tires locking up now. - FFB: I'm on the Logitech DD Pro Wheel and I have no floaty feeling anymore. Very good connection feeling to the road. They did a fantastic job. Now all we need to test is the Multiplayer. Going to Rob's server now. @Rob Milliken: are we doing a AMS2 series in the future?
The tire psyx have massively improved, it brings the sim to a new level, cars without tire warmers need a few laps to get them up to working temp. You can feel them changing as the race goes on, it's pretty impressive stuff .. The things the madness engine can do are quite remarkable, SMS never got to reach its full potential with PC1 & 2 due to release demands causing a lack of time and $$$ to continue the work , The reiza guys have no pressure and have been under the hood for what? 4 years now? They don't have the big boss applying pressure as the big boss is reiza themselves
Yeah, that stuff about the tyres is evident. It's really cool to see how Reiza brings the game to such a high level.
Don't think I will buy the new DLC's, unless they are going to be used in an online series here at SRO. But it's cool that we can try them out for free over the weekend.
Well, they are on sale right now sooo... LMH & protos are in the DLC .... The multi-class racing is next level in AMS2 so I would be leaning towards some series containing DLC in the future .. There are lots of bugs still to squash as it's basically a beta release for MP with LFM taking on the conquest, Nice player counts with multiple splits for the LFM servers, some have 5 splits! expect a patch or 2 in the next few weeks!
Hopefully we get a series in the new year. As long as its not Saturday evening p.s. any Admin know if we may get LMU as a series at some point, as the seeming successor to rF2?
I would like to try it, but the Sundays for 2025 are booked. @Rob Milliken is the AMS2 admin, so maybe he will setup a few mid-week series in 2025.
LMU is amazing .. let's see if a new owner pops up as it is all for sale right now Once / if LMU releases a dedicated server we will be on it! AMS2 1.6 has some initial bugs to squash still & if it can be done it could take over the world ..lol but, we will be having some AMS2 series starting up in 2025 & also keep an eye out for some Holiday special events!
