AMS2 Drivers! Please join us for a Quick 4 race series to test out the new build as well as test out the default championship scoring and tracking system that the Emperor server offers us .. (We will also be using the default SRO scoring) But I want to check out how this Schedualed format our server offers us actually works as well as the latest MP improvements!
The series will be short and sweet! 4 races in 2 weeks! Race days will be Mondays and Wednesdays Starting Monday, Dec 9th! All races will consist of a 20-minute practice / 10 min Q / 20 min race.
Race 2 will be Wednesday, Dec 11th
    Race 3 Monday, Dec 16th
    Race 4 Wednesday, Dec 18th
All sessions will start at 19:00 GMT and be over by 20:00 GMT and consist of default content (no DLC) to allow any of you who might have to clean the dust off your AMS2 install.
We will be using the "Sprint Race" car on the short versions of some classic tracks. in beta testing, this was one of the favorite cars due to its med power and close racing.
Jump in if you can! weather its just for 1 race or for all 4 it will help us pave the way for future events!

    Mon Dec 9, 2024 19:30 R1 Jerez Moto

Would need a decent sign up but this sim seems ideal for an endurance league now. You need the numbers though to make it worth while.

Yes, in beta testing, we did some 32-car multi-class grids and it performed quite well. Now that it's out you can see on the online server browser that the multi class races are full, not without issues though  as once you unleash it on the world you get all kinds of PC spec's clashing together, as we all know it can go south for any sim but for the most part the major issues have been client side, the beta testing consisted of mostly the same players and the game ran great for us ..

That said I'm looking forward to how it goes for us with these test runs!
The server is up, if you can't find it just use the filter= SRO AMS2
The server should show up now a lot better than it did in the past.

Alright, we got 10 drivers! Thanks everyone for joining, I was hoping some of the PC2 guys would jump in as this game is like what PC2 could have been if the parent company didn't have deadlines  and I see a few in so Lets Go!

I was very happy when I saw that they finally decided to start competitions on a game that I like much more than rf2. But today I saw the new AMS2 for the first time, I haven't logged in for a long time and I was surprised by the overly hardcore behavior of the cars. I tried GT3 and it was very difficult. Sprintrace should also be a little easier, but it still requires re-training.

Glad you are interested! with so many options this game should provide endless racing fun!
The new tire psyx are amazing, you need to get heat in them and then the grip will come, It takes a lap or two ..
They also model 'brake fade' so if you overheat the breaks they will need to cool or if they are too cool you will need to close the break vents etc.. they model both carbon fibre and iron breaks. lots of under-the-hood stuff that's not even mentioned in any release notes but were talked about constantly during the beta phase!
Gone are those unrealistic power slides and crazy rear-end behavior ..

It will be great if ams2 develops and competitions on this base become popular. After the closure of Pcars2 and constant changes and unfinished work of ams2, I came to rf2 by force and although it was possible to create competition, I don't like it in some aspects. It's long to write, in short it strongly depends on the device, settings, all sorts of different wisdom. PC2 was open for setups and ghosts in free access, this is great.

    Things to remember:
The first player to join becomes HOST, As the host you are responsible for advancing the sessions from P to Q and Q to R nothing more ..it's quite simple you will see a big red CONTINUE button on the upper right side in the UI:) (if you press it and nothing happens, wait 5 sec's and try again, it sometimes takes a few sec's to become active). AUTO ADVANCE is also turned on and should kick in after 2 minutes if the HOST fails to advance the session. (wip so it might be bugged) I will always try to be first one on but if you find yourself as host during these tests feel free to carry on, its a good way to test the latest net code changes.
We are also experimenting with the server's AUTO START SESSION. this means the event will automatically start at a pre-set date and time.
The session start time is Dec 9 2024 @ 19:00 GMT
    20 min practice
    10 min Q
    20 Min race

The 2 min lockout timer from Project cars 2 has been reduced to 30 seconds! this means when 30 seconds or less remain in any session you will be locked out until the next session starts. If the next session is the Race session you're out of luck and cannot rejoin as a driver, you can rejoin as a spectator.
    Thanks for joining these tests!
Good Luck & see you on track;)

Is there a way to monitor the radiator temps / brake temps / fuel per lap?

I use a simhub overley from rf2 for fuel per lap, I'm pretty sure the in-car gauges work for temps & pressure, then the break & tire widget shows the colors, break fade is also modeled & performance will change when they are too hot/cold ... keep them in the green ...

The weekly practice server is now officially off & the Race server will (should) auto-start at 19:00. So if you are looking, there will be no SRO server until 19:00.
(This feature is being tested and I'm not sure if the auto start will work if the server is already running so for now the practice server is off until race server time)

Good race, was very very laggy at half way into the race. Luckily it didnt register any hits etc so other than that awesome race and think i got 1st time a very positive automobilista 2 experience.
Also i had that crash bug all this time owning game and got rid of it by deleting some folder and letting game redo it so all good!

Sorry had to pull in to the pits, the lag for me was horrendous, undrivable, in fact unfortunately the worst I've encountered. screen lockups, and cars just stopping in the track then disappearing. shame.:(
Hope it was better for others.:)

Very strange to see that much lag  In 6 months of beta testing I never saw lag like in this race ;-( or on the LFM servers ..something must be up with the server or my connection as I was host .. I have a 1.5 GHz cable connection .. ?? so its a mystery ..was anyone on wifi?
