Do any of you watch "Track Ghost SIM Racing" on YouTube?

They shared some intriguing updates regarding the upcoming release of AC-EVO. One thing we already know is that there will be no VR support, and many features on racing rigs won't be operational at launch. There won't be support for triple screens either. Additionally, they mentioned some downloadable content (DLC) that will be available for purchase. It's crucial to have at least 32GB of RAM for optimal performance.

I plan to get the game during earlier of EVO's development, especially with the addition of Free Roam. $$$$

Here's the link to the show. The discussion about EVO starts near the beginning of the podcast.

I heard from my local tech guy I buy my stuff from, He ask me if I have SSD. That I do have, and he said good, the game will not run on a disk drive.

Lots of games are going SSD as the recommended spec e.g. MSFS 2024, Alan Wake 2....

First glance makes it look like we would only be able to run a one-make series, which limits the variation we like to host i.e. GT3, GT4, Proto's etc. Similar to AC I suppose.

I'm uncertain, but it seems that until the DLC content begins to be released,
these cars will serve primarily as a means to test and explore the game's mechanics.
It's unclear whether the game will be a paid product, with tracks and cars sold as separate purchases.
We should have a clearer understanding of this within a few days.

no point in creating yet another sim when there is already everything you need... unless you absolutely want to spend your money.... Like many existing ones, surely impossible to align a different grid, and especially push you to buy, buy, buy additional content... :mad:Why do so many people still use the old Sims? and the current ones, aren't they enough?? an ac with all its content available (we can now estimate equivalent to the classics such as gtl or gtr2) will never be equaled
not to mention a further dispersion of potential pilots...I don't think anyone has any interest in that;)

Assetto Corsa EVO Promising Game Stuck in Development Limbo: Review

In the world of early-access gaming, it's not unusual for players to encounter a few bumps in the road. However, this particular title, while brimming with potential, feels frustratingly incomplete and arguably unpolished in its current state. What’s supposed to be a thrilling experience feels more like stumbling through an early Alpha build, leaving players longing for much-needed updates to deliver on the game’s promise.

To its credit, all the expected tracks are included in the game. That’s a win for anyone eager to dive into the full racing experience without enduring the drip-feed of content releases seen in similar titles. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the promised cars. Not all vehicles advertised at launch are accessible right now, and the process of unlocking the ones that are shrouded in mystery. This lack of clarity has left many players scratching their heads.

How exactly does one unlock these elusive vehicles? There’s no tutorial or in-game direction, and even the most dedicated community members seem to lack definitive answers. It’s a glaring oversight that has created unnecessary confusion and hindered progression for players eager to explore everything the game has to offer.

Another area of concern lies in the game’s settings. While most modern racing games provide deeper control over graphical performance, this title has seemed to lock its graphics settings to a default 60 frames per second (fps) cap. For players with high-performance systems, this limitation is both noticeable and frustrating, as the gameplay still feels inconsistent and choppy. Even with a capable rig, motion often appears stuttered or laggy, which detracts from the immersive experience that driving sims aim to provide.

To make matters worse, these performance issues are exacerbated by a lack of explanation for many key in-game settings. Confusing menus leave players with little guidance on how to tweak their gameplay experience. For example, when adjusting handling and physics options, there’s little to no context for what some settings actually do. This alienates both casual players and enthusiasts alike, as they struggle through trial and error in hopes of finding the right configuration.

Compounding the game’s lack of polish is its reliance on an active internet connection for updates and online racing features. As of now, those features are simply unavailable. Without an active connection, players are unable to access potentially game-changing updates or participate in online multiplayer races. While this is somewhat understandable during a game’s early development stages, it’s still disappointing for anyone eager to explore these popular aspects of modern racing titles.

The game is currently priced at 52 Canadian dollars, but an early-access discount brings that down to 42 CAD. For some, this discounted price might be the only incentive to purchase the game in its current state. On one hand, it might be worth buying now to save a few bucks if you’re confident the developers will deliver necessary updates in the near future. On the other hand, the game’s incomplete state and confusing setup could lead to buyer’s remorse for those seeking a polished experience right away.

For players who are fine with delayed gratification, buying now and waiting for future patches could be a reasonable approach. However, based on the current state of the game, it’s unlikely to feel anywhere near finished for at least a few more months.

There’s no denying that this game shows a lot of promise. But potential isn't enough to justify its early-access flaws. The lack of clarity around key mechanics, capped graphical performance, and incomplete content make it feel like a product still very much in development. If you’re a patient gamer willing to bet on improvements down the road, the early-access discount could be tempting. For everyone else, though, it may be wiser to hold off until the game receives the substantial updates it so desperately needs to become the thrilling racing experience it aspires to be.

For now, the game may be available to purchase, but it’s far from ready for the spotlight.

Sounds like whoever wrote this piece is not one to ever buy an Early Access release of anything. Everyone can have an opinion but this is only one.

The car's body and rims were freshly painted. This was my first time driving in heavy rain, accompanied by frequent, ominous thunder. :D
I notice after the third update, the game is over 90GB now.

I experienced an issue and have already reported it to KUNOS.
I'll mention it here as well, so if you encounter any problems with the game, you can report them on "Support Chat " using the Discord link below.

I've been running EVO for a week now, but yesterday something bizarre happened. My PC's video fans started screaming when I launched EVO, and then everything stopped. EVO wouldn’t launch anymore after that. After about 30 minutes, I reinstalled the game, but the same issue occurred. I noticed that my AMD driver was missing. I reinstalled it, and the game started working again. Did the game do something to my video driver?

    Thats frightening! haha ..
I have been playing it a bit.. I did the MP beta branch and that seemed to work fine .. Its runs good on my AMD/Nivd system ..I have the Ryzen 9 3900X paired with a 4090 32 gigs of ram but its a purposely bought slightly slower clock speed ram .. This delivers amazing stability.. I have zero issues with EVO as well as LMU from day 1 .. reading the support forums I see lot's of problems with AMD 7 3dx chips regardless of the vid card, But I think it's more ram-related.. but I can only guess .. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and feeling lucky to have had good luck with the 2 newest releases LMU & EVO so far :D..

Hope not as I'm thinking of going the AMD route after many, many years of Intel CPU's

From what I have seen over the last 2 years or so with beta testing for reiza & lately with the new releases like LMU & now it's that R7 3dx that has issues for some ./. I have used Ryzen chips in my last 3 builds & one is still running fine after 8 years. My newest rig has the R9 series 3900x with excellent performance coupled with the 4090 .. I remember a conversation I had with someone on the beta team. Right after I built my latest with the R9 the R7's came out & we were comparing things like FPS (we had the same v-cards at the time 3080's) i kept beating him & he kept saying how much faster the R7's were over the R9's but my results proved otherwise .. & then he was getting game crashes lol. So I'm a little bias ... Their has been some chatter at AMD about a voltage problem burning up 7 series chips & they have a fix or two ...

Have you read about when AMD says it has fixed the voltage issues that were causing its 7000X3D processors to randomly burn out, damaging both the CPU and motherboard. I think this is fixed by now. o_O

I have now :D although I hadn't done any research yet on a replacement PC as I've been waiting to see what the nVidia 50xx series is bringing to the party. It looks like the AMD voltage problem, caused by users overclocking and not a default problem, was fixed back in April 2023.
