Guys, despite being sick I must say I enjoyed myself. 1st race was incredible! Got a good start. Had about a foot (30cm) lead over Nick who despite me leaving him enough space (he had the inside line) took the cautious route and gave me the corner. I lead the first 2 or 3 laps trying to slow Nick down so he would have to defend from Roel. BTW Nick, VERY CLEAN RACING MATE! Made a mistake last corner which had Nick and Roel pass me on the straight. Nothing I could do about that. I was then relegated to following the 2 leaders trying to keep a safe gap and still be close enough to take advantage when either would make a mistake. About 15 minutes into the race Nick got passed Roel which slowed Roel down a bit. Due to Roel getting held up a bit I was able to catch up and eventually get past. By then Nick had a big enough gap. Deserved win for Nick. To be honest, that race could have been won by anyone of the top 3. Great race! This is why we do this sim stuff 2nd race was not so good for me. Starting on the last row had me taking a cautious start I thought i'd follow Nick and Roel trough the pack when on the 2nd lap I suddenly had a coughing attack. By the time I gathered my senses I was somewhere other than on the black stuff. Lost a lot of time. From then on all I could do was damage control. trying to pass as many cars as I could. Ended up 4th. Best I could manage. Anyway, like I said, I enjoyed myself and there was a descent turnout. As always if the replays are needed, I can upload them.
Thanks Roy, to me, almost more than winning, this is the most important and fun bit, knowing you can trust people to try their best NOT to have contact, but still have close racing.
Wow, what a night, plenty of practice had given me a quick car, first race was a blast with three of us battling away. Second race found my way through on the tail of Roel, which I did not expect given the tight track, but again sat behind, put pressure on, and waited for that one chance to get past and took it. Unlucky to those not having the fun tonight but hope things change. These cars are a blast to chuck round.
