Started badly for me.... ...... and finished badly for me. First off arrived too late for qualification. So, following behind I had to brake a bit so not to punt someone just in front. Problem was my brakes did not brake as strong as they should have and I had to end up slamming them down too late, locking them up and sending me off the track into the wall. Back to the pits and after 209 seconds of repairs I was off again. And what did I see? I had copped a stop and go! How the **** did I do that? So plodded on but was still having brake problems and managed to flat spot the tyres a bit. Came in and did my stop and go. Plodded on with a bit of vibration from the flat spots but not too bad. Then got distracted by a message flashing up and what do you know, off the track again into the wall (same place as the first time). Race over. Just wasn't my day. nb: Did some tests after the end of my race and saw that my brakes do not always work the same. They sometimes come on hard, sometimes not so hard, and sometimes hardly at all. Do not know if it is the calibration or what. If anyone has any ideas I have a G27 with a Andy Pastor load cell.
Hi! Sorry, can't help you with that.. i had for some time a set of g27 pedals with a gteye spring.. changed it for a set of used fanatec v1 pedals.. can't go back I still have few experience with load cell but it sounds to me that it's not a software calibration but the load cell that its giving erratic information... from what i've been reading when this happens in the fanatec it's time to replace the load cell... but i can be wrong
Great Race today guys !! hats off to some epic driving ! thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it ! I also saw some good fair play where Ricardo & JVDG tangled ,Nice job .. Congrats to Mark ! what a great race the battle for top 5 was well contested .. I lost my chance for a podium when I stayed out for one more lap on the already tired tires ! I had moved up to 2nd following Mark as we all inherited the top 3 positions after the 2 leaders, team mates from Team Atlantic , gave way to the walls of Toban ! I saw Mark dive in for his stop & thought i would do one more lap then come in ,I should have just followed him into the pits as my front left gave way right at the base of Turn 1 ..i slid onto the tire barrier and lost my hood .. lol After a long drive back to the pits I found my self battling back into the top 6 .. Thanks to all the drivers for the nice turn out ..
lap 11 was the end for me after a good start. I made a couple of places then the car handling starting to feel wrong. I just cant stop the action of braking from making my wheel judder to the point where the car becomes undrivable. I have downloaded motec and pedal overlay to diagnose FFb clipping . not happy
In case anyone is struggling finding a good baseline race setup, here's mine from Toban: I think softPH is the better race tire, so you should switch to that in setup. I made the mistake of starting on soft. Third place with 3 pitstops and fastes lap: http://www.mediafire.com/file/h8b7ee848em0fpr/DTM_Bayro_2012.svm
What a race!! My qualification was bad... I was aiming for mid 1:24.. but I couldn't Race started badly.. spinned in lap 3, and then tried to recover some positions... when I was finally second (i think) looked and my tires and they were dead!! The effort to overtake Rob cost me my tires (we need to have patince) Went changing tires... car was better, in a few laps ... tires died again! Latter, made mistakes, spinned again, found myself in third following John Punted John, gave him back his position, and did a drive trough a few laps latter John changed tires and he came close again... and the last ten minutes were pure fun!!! GREAT STUFF Congrats to all.. Great WIN Mark! BTW I agree with John, SoftPH are better for race... these were the ones I raced in Silverstone
Although I didn't make the start thought I would share some of the final versions of my livery. I found out how to change the windscreen from the outside but it means playing with the MAS files that are part of the cars DDS collection. This is usually ok on something like AMS but on RF2 it must check the files compared to the server and it throws an error message. Anyway it works on replays and when I'm racing offiline. Took the opportunity to change the logos on the tyres to the correct Hankook ones, added my helmet design and a finished racesuit as well I can't run DX11 Ultra it's just too much strain on my PC but it looks really superb for screenshots EDIT: Thought I'd just add little more detail about how things went. I ran probably about 80 or so laps in total and managed a 27.4 in a private practice session. I then did a full race simulation on Saturday morning. I'm assuming it was just down to the realroad or track conditions but the car in the actual race weekend was very sluggish and I was struggling badly for grip (I need the car to bite at the front and for some reason this wasn't happening). It was only until I looked at the timing screen it seems some of us were in the 29's as well so I didn't feel too bad at that point! It was then that I started having connection issues. I would have restarted the internet connection but it usually takes about ten minutes for things to stabilise and by then the race would have started so I decided to try a few times and if the issue continued I would have to leave it. Once again, many thanks for waiting for me, very kind. A real shame as I was enjoying the track, never raced on it before but great fun. I can't make the next round as I'm out that night, but I'll still drop onto the server as I see it's now active and run some laps. The car is fun to drive anyway.
Thought I would just add my thoughts onto the points about brakes and braking. I used to own a Thrustmaster wheel and pedals and then over time the pedals cracked at the base as they do. So I kept the wheel and I bought a set of Fanatec Clubsport V2's. They are beautiful pedals, very well made and lovely detailing. However I have never been as fast with them as I was with the old potentiometer pedals and I've always been at a slight loss why. With the old pedals I could lap within half a second of a certain lap time with no problems but with the loadcell brake my laps times are all over the place, if I brake hard and deep into the corner I simply don't slow down enough, which makes overtaking very tough! Even if I modulate the brake on apex to try and stabilise the car it's still very difficult to make the corner sometimes. The brake works fine and the levels are smooth on the loadcell so it's not technical problem as far as I'm aware. It's an issue I can see when I'm racing online with RaceDepartment. I'm quicker than those around me but they can brake a good 100-150 yards later into the corner. If I try that I simply plough straight on! It's almost like braking on ice or on a wet road. So I lose quite a bit of time. Usually they have G27's or G29's I suppose the most extreme example was the Super V8 on AMS. I know it was a heavy car but I could never get the thing slowed down! haha. Thinking about possibly trying a different make as it can be very frustrating not being able to control the car under brakes as I used to be able to. I know there are various recommendations on game setup with this type of brake setup but from what I can gather the standard brake gamma/setup in RF2 is fine for loadcell.
Parabens a todos que terminarama corrida, primeiro rodei um ponto que nunca havia saido, e depois de arrumar o carro vinha até bem, porem minha net me deixou na mão, quando voltei estava em 8.
"Congratulations to all that finishes race, first I rode a point that never left, and after tidying the car came up well, but my net left in my hand, when I came back it was at 8." gota love google translate lol I think you wanted to say you have never driven this track before ,after you tweeked your set it was good but then you got disconnected and rejoined to finish 8th ...lol Sorry for your connection issues ! good finish considering you had to rejoin the session plus you still were in the points ! Desculpe por seus problemas de conexão! bom final considerando que você teve que se juntar à sessão
