[IMG] WELCOME TO THE SIM RACING ONLINE F1 2023 CHAMPIONSHIP

For this 7 event series, we will use the excellent 5-start Formula 1 Hybrid-22 mod from Steam.
The mod holds 1 car model with all the 2022 and 2023 skins applied to it. We will use the 2023 version.
Tip: if the car sound is too soft, go to speakers config and change from "auto" to "headphones" or visa versa.

We will replicate the F1 2023 championship over 7 events.

    RULES FOR THIS SERIES

    1. Choose a car/team in post 2 below. (SRO teams will want to pick 2 cars from the same F1 team) HERE.
You can only choose a car if you have registered for this series on the signup list !!! There will be only 20 signup entries.
    *******

    2. We will go the full race distance. The number of race laps will be the same as the original events.
    3. The qualifying will be for 15 minutes. Tire compound choice in qualifying is free. You do not have to start on the tire compound you did your fastest lap with.
    4. The race will start with a formation lap and standing start.
    5. In the race you have to change to a different tire compound at least once (from soft to medium etc.). From the moment the track surface is wet, tire choice is free and not mandatory.
    6. We will use the original F1 FIA points system.
    7. The driver with the fastest lap in the race is awarded 1 extra championship point.
    8. There is no ABS or TC.
    9. DRS is active on this car.
    10. You can NOT use costume skins. We will only use the original F1 team skins.

    11. ON RACEDAY, YOU HAVE TO CONFIRM THAT YOU WILL DRIVE
Signup list: A green light is an active driver (the first 20) / A red light is a driver on the waiting list

There will be a special forum called: (Event name): I confirm that I will drive on race day
With all probability, we will have red light drivers on the signup list. To keep the series authentic, we want to have a full 20 drivers grid.
That means that no-shows will be taken out of the complete series and their car will transfer to the first or next red light. That means that red lights have to confirm that they will drive too, to avoid no-shows.

WHEN do you confirm that you will drive?
You can confirm that you will drive ON RACE DAY itself and only on race day.
You have the whole day to do so, UNTILL 2 hours before qual starts.
After the confirmation time expires, I will check who confirmed, and who did not confirm.
If a green light driver did not confirm, that driver will be removed from the series in favour of the first / next red light who will move up to green.
I will notify the red light driver who has moved up to green in a private post that he can take a specific F1 car from a specific F1 team.
The server password will be changed 1,5 hours before qual.

    Exception:
You can of course unregister only for a specific event in advance and join the series again in a next round.

    Formation lap & Standing start
    How does each race start?

    1. The race starts with a formationlap.
    2. At the end of the formationlap, you lock in to your red square for a standing start.
    3. At the green light, the race starts.

    ****************************************************************

No Esc. on track rule in Qualification
In qualification, you can not press Escape (Esc.) while on track (if you crash) and then go back out again.
If you want to do another run, you have to come into the pits first.

This is to protect the other drivers from someone taking abnormal risks to set a good lap time and crashing (other cars).

    Maximum number of drivers

The maximum field for all 7 events = 20 drivers.

I have unregistered from the entire series as I realize I have to many conflicting commitments and I do not want to deny someone else the opportunity to compete for the championship. I apologize for the late withdrawal. There are a few rounds where would I like to be on-stand-by as a reserve. Best of luck to everyone.
