Hi all, I've had an echo taken at the hospital of my shoulder, and it turns out I have a tear in a tendon there as a result of falling off my bike a few months back. All this time I kept sim racing because I thought it was only bruised. So it turns out it's more severe than that. I'm advised not to put any strain on it for about 3 months. So I'm out of commission for a while for racing. This is also a good opportunity for me to recharge the sim racing battery because I've been an admin for 6 years non-stop now. That means I'm going to take a vacation from sim racing altogether for a few months after my current duties are completed and will probably be back around March 2023. See you all later! John van der Geest
Really sorry to hear that. Hope you make a 100% recovery and return refreshed and rejuvenated. It's not the same without you. Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year. Get well soon. (My advice is to take up virtual biking )
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hard to believe it's been 6 years since we started this adventure. You've been an awesome admin and SRO is grateful. You are a fast and fair competitor and I look forward to racing you in 2023.
You should be on stage man! Thanks for your good wishes and I hope you and your loved ones have a great Christmas and new year too!
Thanks Mark. Yeah, I can't believe it has been 6 years already. It will be fine, it just takes a while when you're not 20 anymore
Just logged back in and saw this my old friend John... find yourself another hobby for a couple of months and come back to sim racing stronger than ever
Sorry to hear that. Wish you speedy recovery. Cycling it is a beautiful sport, but sometimes ... well, I also have a knee which can tell a painful story And, yes, as Gilles said, virtual cycling it is great when outside is wet and cold. Can't recommend enough a smart trainer
So I will try once again to become the best sim-racer in my street from March 4 onward, when my latest series will start: BTCC 1990 Championship.
