Open the Rar/Zip file (or if it is a self extracting .exe file run the file but do not extract directly into the game folder, extract to outside the game preferably on to a different drive, as very few have an uninstall app) & check to see which folders are going to be written to. Track mods can be in 3 different formats, 1: With a folder inside the rar named GameData (& maybe other folders) these should be copied into the main game directory (where the game .exe is) by highlighting the files & folders in the rar file & dragging them into the game (ensuring you do not accidentally copy them into one of the folders in the main game directory) . 2: with a folder inside the rar named Locations the files & folders should be copied into the GameData folder. 3: With a folder inside the rar using the track name (always open the folders as it may be that the GameData or Locations folder is inside, if they are copy as in the descriptions above) if is just the track folder it should be copied into the GameData/Locations folder. Car rar mods will have several folders & sometimes files inside these should all be copied into the main game directory (where the game exe is). When copying the folders into your game, do not select overwrite all, check the shared files & keep or copy over the most recent file. You can select overwrite of the folders. Keep the downloaded file if you can so you have a reference, should you wish to delete it or problems occur. Track Mods will usually be OK as long as they just add the track folder to the locations folder, if they change other folders such as the shared folder they may cause problems with other tracks, so load several other tracks in the game to check that they load correctly. If you have downloaded a more recent copy of a track, delete the track folder from your game, before copying the new one over, to prevent file corruption or erroneous files being left in the game. Car Mods will usually not affect other mods unless they change the shared folders, so load several tracks in the game to check that they load correctly. If you have downloaded a more recent copy of a Mod, delete the main car folder from your game, before copying the new one over, to prevent file corruption or erroneous files being left in the game. When uninstalling any mod that has altered the shared or sounds folders, DO NOT delete any of the files inside those folders, as they may be used by other mods & only remove folders that you are certain are not used by any other mod.
