I have taken note of Mac Shepherd's comments about the default setup rule for this series in his video. And I am wondering if the majority feels the same way. Would you like the setup settings to be completely open for the rest of the series or leave it like it is? If more then 50% (that's 13 or more drivers) wants open setup settings (where you can change every setting), I will leave it open for the rest of the series. Vote please!
I want it to stay because that is how we started. In my opinion, it would be unfair to change this rule while we are halfway into the series. If not for the default setup rule, the previous races may have resulted differently. If other drivers do not care about points, I don't think it is a big deal to change the fixed setup rule, but my choice is on the negative side.
This poll is to investigate what the majority wants. It would be silly to carry on with something that the majority does not enjoy. It's not my will to change, unless the majority does not like the default setup rule. Power to the people !!
I’m not a fast enough driver for it to make much of a difference for me, but I’d like to suggest maybe opening just some the settings; I’m thinking of the diff settings in particular. Those have a huge impact on the handling of these cars, while not being too hard to adjust (as in their effect is easy to feel, unlike for example bump and rebound settings).
That is why I voted for an open setup. A diff 30-30 sounds a bit strange. In any case, the season is almost over, and at this point it is better to leave everything as it is. If you plan to do another championship F1 '67 (sign me in already from now), it would be nice to have open setups and slow cars for fast pilots and fast cars for slower pilots.
Or pack of cars. Lets say types a b c. Then races would be for lets say type A cars and so on... If have best type a car then would have worst type c car and so on. Marek A. had fantastically done it on simracers enents with gp79.
I've asked Rob Milliken if opening the diff option is possible. The answer is that it would take him too much time to redo all the setups for all cars on the server. So, no go, I'm afraid.
I would like to have setups open in the next series. I am not sure that this would have made any difference during this season as I am still getting to grips with racing online. I do like to tinker with settings though
For next time we will leave all setup options open. This was just an experiment to see if it would level the playing field if you could only change the basics.
We have reached 13 votes to let the setups stay closed, against 7 to make the setups open. So, by vote of the majority, the setups will remain closed for the rest of the season. Thanks for voting!
