WELCOME TO ROUND 1 AT AUTODROMO DI IMOLA

    - Just as in the real Imola event, this race will have rain in the middle of the race.

    Review from the real race:

The 499Ps had the pace in dry conditions to score a first win on home soil, something that was evident in the body language displayed by members of the team for most of the weekend. Through practice, qualifying and into the second half of the race, this was clearly Ferrari’s to lose. Yet to the surprise of many, it did.

When the track conditions quickly changed with a rain shower in the fourth hour of the race – and it became a major test of strategic nous as well as speed – the wily old fox that is Toyota Gazoo Racing took advantage. The Toyota team has been downbeat since the Prologue, arguably excessively so, but it is Hypercar Manufacturer World Champion for a reason. It should never be counted out.

So what about Ferrari? With fourth and seventh-place finishes for its works 499Ps, the Ferrari Hypercar team showed once again that it is not yet the finished article. This is a programme that (understandably) has a high level of expectation placed on it and just one win show for its efforts.

Giuliano Salvi, the team’s sportscar race and testing manager, was humble in the team’s post-race technical briefing. He was immediately asked to explain the reasoning behind its decision to stay on slicks for too long while the rest of the Hypercar field switched to wets. And he didn’t hold back.

“The information we had on our side was obviously wrong,” he said. “We thought the weather would be just temporary.

“We need to revise our chain of communication, for sure. But our strategy is not to finger-point.

“Sometimes you look at the (weather) radar and you think it should rain and it doesn’t, and you stop relying on the signal. We thought it was the kind of situation where you don’t need to rely on the radar too much. We misjudged the situation.”

The circuit itself is a star, we knew that going in. It oozes character, it’s old school and it’s located in a beautiful region littered with spectacular vistas.

But the 6 Hours of Imola was more than simply a WEC race on the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, it felt like a major race meeting for the teams and the passionate local fanbase.

The official attendance figure over three days was reported as 73,600. Sometimes you hear a number after a race and put it down to creative mathematics. Other times, like Sunday, you believe it.

The circuit was rammed, the infield fan area was well-presented and the grandstands were well-filled for the entire race, even after the rain came.

Sure, it helped that Ferrari had three Hypercars on the grid and Valentino Rossi was racing in LMGT3. But the circuit drew such a big crowd because it’s a very spectator-friendly venue, the event was promoted so well and tickets were not priced too high.

in my opinion, not a good pair of classes. Too big a difference in speed. GT3 will just be standing obstacles .
look at the difference in leman.

You are sort of correct Roman. But in the end its a hypercar, so pretty much everything is on its way.
    No point doing protos etc.
We had good experience before with multiclassing.
It just needs so much correct mindset from everyone and specially the faster car.
Everyone has to think about everyones race, who is racing who and so on and be very aware of track and surroundings.
So in conclusion of all this there probably will be drama too :D

there is good experience - at the test stages, those pilots who will go to the championship in the LMP choose to test the GT3 and vice versa. Having been in the shoes of another class, you get a good understanding of how to behave with rivals

It seems to work okay in real life.

EXPLAINING RED- AND GREEN LIGHTS ON THE SIGNUP LIST

Maximum cars LMH class = 14
    Maximum cars GT3 class= 18

If you are a red light on the signup list, you are on the waiting list. The waiting list means you are waiting for a green light to unregister, so you can move up 1 place until you are a green light yourself.

    Red lights
do not see the "race" password to get on the server and can not race until they are a green light.

Ah ok, was going to ask what the maximum entry size will be and how many pits stalls there are in the tracks especially with 3rd party tracks.
