WELCOME TO ROUND 1 DIJON PRENOIS Dijon-Prenois is a 3.801 km (2.362 mi) motor racing circuit located in Prenois, near Dijon, France. The undulating track is noted for its fast, sweeping bends. Opened in 1972, Dijon-Prenois hosted the Formula One French Grand Prix five times, and the Swiss Grand Prix in 1982. The non-championship 1975 Swiss Grand Prix was also held at Dijon. The circuit currently hosts the Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or, and last hosted the FFSA GT Championship in 2018. The first F1 race was run in 1974 on the circuit's original 3.289 km (2.044 mi) layout; with the fastest lap times under the one-minute mark, there was a major problem with congested traffic between the race leaders and the back-markers. Therefore, in 1976 an extension was added to lengthen the circuit as well as to reprofile many of its corners before the time F1 could return to Dijon in 1977. The 1979 French Grand Prix featured a memorable battle for second place in the final laps between Gilles Villeneuve's Ferrari and René Arnoux's Renault, which was finally won by Villeneuve. The race itself was won by Jean-Pierre Jabouille in the other Renault - Renault's first, and the first F1 victory for a turbocharged car. Dijon-Prenois onboard - Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS
RACE LENGTH REDUCTION TO 35 MINUTES FOR ALL EVENTS Since we are only 8 and minus the no-shows, probably 5, I will reduce the race length to 35 minutes instead of 50. Tyres will be x 3 due to the time reduction. Fuel stays normal x 1. I think these cars and tracks are awesome and this series deserves some love. So I will try to make all events interesting. Now that the Ferrari and Pantera also have working whippers, we can make the weather variable so we can have some fun. At the end of this first event we will have heavy rain. That means the last 12 minutes. A pit-stop to a wet tyre change takes 46 seconds. So it's up to you if you want to risk staying out on slicks.
DRIVERS BRIEFING - Race password has been set here. - Fuel is normal - Tyres is x 3 - Damage is x 50% - Qual: Dry session 10 minutes all together on track - Qual: You can not press esc. on track and do another run. You have to go into the pits first (if you are wrecked by another driver, you can press Esc and do another lap). - Race: 35 minutes (no mandatory pitstop) - Standing start when the lights go out / no formation lap. - We start dry and it will rain in the last 12 minutes GOOD LUCK ALL!
Thank you all for supporting this series. I hope you like the cars and tracks I selected. I think they are both a lot of fun and I will do my best to make the races as interesting as I can Are the following no-shows still interested in doing this series? Nick Westy Antonis Paparinopoulos Karl Strouhal
