I was gonna going to ask about shifting too..... It seems fine shifting up (I've not been lifting) but shifting down rapidly (like for the hairpins) is a bit tricky. Sometimes I downshift 3 times to get into 3rd, and it only goes into 4th. Is there a knack or a setting to make this easier? Love the track (it's new to me) and the car is really fun to drive!
Does anyone know if these cars are supposed to be H pattern or sequential shift? RF2 doesn't enforce one or the other based on the car like AC does.
There are differences within the physics files for each car, but only by testing them will you establish the differences and which suits you better.
Possibly this mod has the rF2 downshift protection enabled which would prevent too rapid downshifting to avoid overrevving the engine, but I'm not familiar with the mod personally.
I'm not quite sure but not lifting may cause problems to the engine as it becomes weaker during the race and sooner or later this might grenade the engine during the race. I'm not familiar with this mod or if this engine is bulletproof. If you start seeing people dropping like flies during the race, it's time to lift or maybe it's to late.
So mechanical failures are turned on? I like it - adds an extra dimension to the race! I guess the only way to find out is to fill it with fuel and do a full length test in practice.
The % level of damage for all our series is always shown on each race page under the server/pwd details
I didn't know if 'damage' included mechanical failures or not. In 8 months racing on rf2 I've never had an engine explode - would be nice to see the odd failure!
It does depend on the mod parameters of course, but the damage level set on the server will influence it
I don't suppose anyone has any baseline setups for the Cart car?..... I'm not familiar with it at all!
The downshifting is driving me mad! It's nearly always in a higher gear than I've intended. I am lifting when downshifting - am I downshifting too quickly? I'm really struggling to do more than a couple of laps without spinning it into a wall. I'm 5 seconds off the pace, not sure if this is for me!
Can anybody with experience of these cars confirm whether or not that the rF2 Downshift protection is enabled in this mod?
