No, I don't want to burden everybody with another DLC.

    Server is up.

Make sure you practised running in the rain on this track. It will rain during the race.

Theres been all kinds of balancing acts on these cars and i read somewhere that porsche got more weight, wutta hell? that car murders the driver anyhow...

That track looks great on video btw.

It became fast one of my favourites. I'm hoping that it will have the same effect on all others.

The rF2 track builder did a fantastic job. It's very similar to the real track.

Can you not put a wet server up, if you intend to make it rain or have a wet race?

The practice sessions are 2:45 right? My suggestion would be to set it with the same % at the various points of that session, so it starts dry, rains, then stops raining. Then we can try to work out how the track behaves as it starts to get wet, how it behaves when it is wet, and how it behaves when it starts to dry. These phases are bound to be very different than what we've experienced with v1128.

Lots of work left to do, but possible tip, if it helps anyone:

So i went to the server today and discovered that the latest GTE updates have totally f'd the M8 base set i've been using for the last couple years. The off-throttle near apex behavior seemed very odd compared to the pre-update car. It was very reminiscent of the original GTR and early rF1 mods: "spin at any speed" in the slowest corners.

So i left the server to run my testing on a track i wouldn't be trying to learn at the same time. Near as i can tell, the new Traction Control features are a major factor, at least for me. Mid-corner, off-throttle, if the revs fell low enough they would provoke an over-steer leading inevitably to what my brother used to call a lazy low-speed "rFactor spin". No matter how slow i was going, by the time it started, steering corrections would have no affect.

It feels like there is far less acceptable slip angle in the tires, which is complicated by the slip and engine torque TC and diff preload settings. And there just isn't enough range in the bars to correct for it. Managed to get close by running all three of the TC adjustments at 1 and pumping up the slow bump shock settings. But now i have to figure out how to keep the car from spinning up on the curbs, or when i'm getting even the slightest hint of over-steer coming out of a corner and the rears are already a bit warm from the over-steer i couldn't dial out.

Still think the tire model is a big improvement, but a little disappointed with the car itself. The behavior off-throttle seems very odd to me. Wish the C8 was available, but then my set for that was for v1128, so it may be shit now too.

Just throwing out a thought. Maybe it would be interesting to set the server up a few hours before the race with the same chance of rain hour by hour as in real life at the track.

@Barrett Erickson i agree. Were totally different cars. Some undriveable even. Didnt tune setups at all but seems got a long way to go and time is limited as usual.

I will do so, but rF2 behaves weird with carrying over the weather from one session to another.
If I let it rain in the middle of practice and no rain at the end, it will still be a wet track in Qual and at the start of the Race.

In the General rules, shows we need the Corvette. Can we keep it? Please, please, pretty please. J/k. I know, it can be expensive. Don't want anyone thinking they still need to purchase it. I already have it though. :)

I don't understand the question. Yes, we are using the Corvette C7.R, not the new C8.

TC is an available feature on these cars, but you can turn it off.

Traction control is a real feature on GTE cars. They do not have ABS however.

Ok guys, I only wanted say that I tested the track and mod and thought that it would be more challenging and nicer to race without tc.. It was only a suggestion...
