Good race. Had little bounce at early stages so picked up little grass and aero damage. After that it was a chase that ended well for my part. Actually went to lower wings and still Nick had nice straight line speed so maybe he was lower still and his exit from last corner was better.
Good job Toni, same issue for me. I sas that I had as top speed deficit, so I reduced the wing as well, went with 1/18 into qualifying. I thought now I have a good top speed on the main straight, but in my first lap the tachometer showed only 240... Soon it became clear why, in the HUD I could see that the gas pedal was stuttering or did not go to 100% only 85-90 something. Not ideal, but not the main reason for my bad quali performance. It was ok, when I pressed it a bit harder or differently. Not the best prospects for the race, but it went surprisingly well. Less wing payed dividends, made it possibly to pass Gerhard, while Ken and Jonas had both bad luck with the curbs - I think. Julian however, has not done me teh favor, in fact it was the other way arround. I nearly lost the car a few times pushing to much. I good first sector is not enough, as Toni stated, get the chicane right and a good exit from Rivazza makes your life easier. Good Job too, Julian. I will now try to get some contact spray and we see next time, if the stuttering was not a secret of success as an effective traction control
first corner was code brown with phil brown as i got squeezed on outside into first corner from contact and went across gravel at rally-cross speed but managed to keep it pointing straight and rejoined without loosing a place. was 3 sec from toni for a lap or two and then he spun and was then 3 sec behind, over the next 40 mins was serious pressure as he was on my ass from 3 to 2 to 1 to 0.5 over that time period, I only made one major mistake of note at same corner toni spun and went wide and lost half a second in one go and had to shut the door into the hairpin as a result it was down to nothing, managed to build it back up to 0.6 again and was half way through last lap just 4 more corners to go AND.................. what can I say, I was 1 liter short, DNF I am rather stoic about it all as rather than smashing something the fact that toni was in front of me in Barcelona when he got disconnected and DNF means we are now even with a win and non finish each, bring on round 3
Congrats to @Toni Talvitie and real shame for @Nick Westy you two were on it, very impressive times. This admittedly is not my sim but trying to get there, really do enjoy it, the car is fun to drive but to stop it spinning on the brake is a struggle for me. I decided to try and run a conservative race and keep the car on the track because there was no way I could keep up with Toni and Nick, so I was really happy to be in an unexpected P3. I saw the crash in too turn 1 which gave me P3 instead of P4, I then just tried to keep my position which was hard work. I was even more surprised to inherit a undeserved on pace, P2 when Nick ran out of fuel. @Philipp Pichler You were closing a 2 second gap and putting heavy pressure on me , I really thought I was going to drop it , you had a faster pace, all I could see was your front bumper behind, so the last part of the race was spent defending, Nice race. Very pleased with the result and I will try and make the next race if I can. Thanks to all.
I guess default, it is called 397 HUD Full Split on the menu. See below, pedal input is on the bottom left.
